What is a sure way to distinguish real OEM 507 rims from replicas? From what i read the lips may be different and obviously the stamping in the back. Can anyone tell me the sure way to know which rims are OEM? and picture examples? Thanks.
I can touch them and can tell by the smoothness. Licking them though...that slight hint of German made engineering and Schnitzel, mmhmm, no mistaking it then.

Or better yet, pick up the rim and throw it on the floor as hard as you can. If it cracks, then it's fake. If it doesn't, then you got a solid (but scratched and probably dented) rim.
Easiest way to tell is that on replicas the AMG logo on the front is a plate (or not there) as opposed to OEM where the AMG is stamped directly into the rim.
The most common ones from China aren't stamped on the inside and come with a made in china sticker on them. They are meant to be "AMG style" and not fool ya counterfeits. I don't know of any companies purposing trying to make rims to fool people...the market just isn't big enough.

Haha, very nice. I also heard by the way it bounces after you throw it is a tell sign too. Totally worth it though!
This A$$ is trying really hard to pass these off as Mercedes AMG wheels. No where does he state that they are AMG style and on manufacturer he listed mercedes.
1) Replica 507 wheels have the "old" AMG logo stamped on the outside. Authentic ones have the "new" logo witht the slanted A. This is probably the most obvious way to tell.
2) Authentic black 507 wheels sold in the US have an indented silver lip. The lip on the replica ones are thicker and are not indented.
Also, as others said, look for the correct stamps on the inside of the wheel.
That wheel does not have the indented silver lip, the black finish has too much shine and I can't see the details of the lettering around the air valve hole but I'm 99% certain mine do not have that and will look tomorrow.
The area around the center star should be black and the AMG logo at 11 O-clock should be blended with the indented silver lip.
