HMS just released the coupe fenders. The only difference from the sedan ones is that the coupe fenders don't have the rear door arch piece. Instead the coupe ones are a one piece flare with side skirt and rear bumper cards. They also install exactly the same as the sedan variant.

I've PM'd you some more details.

^^ gotta give huge credit to this man for setting up this GB. I'm very impressed, at first I was doubtful it would become reality.. But ur last pic of the flares totally changed my mind. Kudos

Ha the wait was a bit long and everyone who ordered seems super excited. The vision of all these different set ups will be interesting to see and I'm looking forward to see it happen. It will feel like a different animal for sure.

Completely agree. With these fenders installed, in my mind, it completely changes the car from a very modest looking performance sedan to an absolute animal of a car. Paired up with the right carbon bits here and there, and these cars are going to look sooooo epic.

Will additional fasteners be needed for the BS liners?

Hi all,

I have a wheel/tire fitment question.

Given that I'm running a 19x8.5 255/35 in the front, what would you run in the rear to not upset the bias too much.

I'm going to order new rear outer barrels for my Works and thus can really go as wide as I want.

Would you go with a 19x11 with a 295 or a 19x11.5 with a 305?

295/30/19 is slightly shorter
305/30/19 is slightly taller

both in comparison to 255/35/19.

Personally, would probably choose the 305.

I just don't want to create an understeer machine with a huge contact patch in the rear and not so much in the front.

Still on the fence I guess.

Same boat here. Maybe we should look at 285s like HMS recommends? Unfortunately it is not even available in MPSS on Tirerack. I don't want to try 305 and then be disappointed.

Good to see this conversation here. If you are into drag racing, you want skinnies in front and as wide as possible in the rear. If you want neutral handling in turns, you want to be close to square (same width front and rear). I just installed custom track wheels with R-compound tires and I am only going 295 wide in the rear even though I could fit 315.
I have 265s in front. I would like to get 275/30/19 ir maybe even 285/30/19 but could not find track tires in that size. Hence 295s in the rear - I did not want to go more than 30mm wider than my fronts.

3/15 Update

Alright guys I have some good news and bad news.

I'll start with the good news.

The first GB order has been shipped (I have still have an order left to ship - pending address). For all orders that have shipped I've sent you a tracking number. If you didn't receive it please PM or email me.

Now to the not so good news...

HMS Tuning has increased the price on the fenders for the 2012+ Coupe fender release. This has effect both types of fenders including the Sedan version. Realtime material, production costs have added. The new price for the fenders (without OEM Black Series liners) is 1,672.96€ or $1,858.99 USD.

I am working with HMS to get a discounted Group Buy #2 rate. A few of you have paid already and some are waiting to pay for the deposit. Until I get the updated GB discount pricing, I cannot accept any future payments and any payments that have been made can be refunded at any time. I apologize for this and I hope some of you are still interested regardless of the price increase.

Thank you,

I've talked to a couple of buddies and it looks like I'm going to go with 305 on an 11 or 11.5.

Another thing I've noticed about these fenders that pertains to tire sizes -- the wheel openings are actually taller than OEM. I'm assuming this has been done to be able to fit larger tires without rubbing.

Ernst - when you held these up to your car, did you notice the same thing?

I did a quick mock up last week following the body line and the rear bumper / quarter panel seam and noticed that the HMS arch is definitely higher. I would say about an 1" higher than factory, but the metal underneath that sits lower than the mocked up fenders will be cut anyways during the install. I think since the rear HMS fenders sit slightly higher, it gives it more of an aggressive stance, better for wheel/tire clearance and reduces the "raked" look with equal ride height front and rear.

Totally agree with everything you said, but that means we'll have an inch of extra wheel gap. This is partially the reason I'm going with a 305. We basically have no choice but to either fill the increased wheel well, lower the car further, or just live with an increased wheel gap.

305/30 should close the gap up a bit though...

There are some trade off's and gains but ultimately the choice is yours. But this is what I would do...
  1. Keep the Work VS-XX 19" faces.
  2. Re-barrel the front to 9.5 and rears to an 11/11.5 (Keep the width bias smaller)
  3. When they do the re-barrel, request for 20" stepped lip outer's all around. This way you will be able to run any tire size you want because of the 20" sidewall profiles available (25/30).

Work Wheels has a special edition VS-XX they have for the Porsche called the Brombacher. One of my favorite wheels of all time. It's the wheel RWB uses except they sandwich other barrels to get 13j/13.5j. Since you are trying to run big tires and get a respectable amount of lip on the VS-XX, this is another world to explore.

And some E46 M3 love. Here's a custom set of Work VS-XX (Brombacher) I built for a friend of mine in Hawaii a while back.

Sizing is a 19×10 +8 L-Disk (10mm Rouge Engineering spacers so effectively a -2) and rears are 19×11.5 +15 L-Disk R in Feinheit Silver II (FS2) finish. *Note that they are actually 18" faces*

I know, I know... breathe slowly. Those lips are godly.

For you guys that already have the fenders install, do you think a 11 or 11.5 wheel with 315 tire will fit ?? I need the biggest tire that fit to the fenders so I can put the power to the ground.

U just nailed it, to make the VSXX (or LM's) to look aggressive, u need to go 20's step lip. 19's reverse lip looks weak.

I'm of another opinion. I think these look epic.

I'm pretty sure an 11.5 can fit no problem, but remember that a 315 will be quite tall. How much power are you putting down?

Try Yoko AD-08R's or Pirelli Trofeo's.

Holy sheeeit. Okay, yeah scrap that about AD08R's lol you're gonna need some seriously sticky tire to even hook second with that much power.

What was the price of these fenders before? Pretty sure you should be able to gauge an estimate from the price before and after and what-not.
