To answer your question on fiberglass (FRP) and cold weather. You should have absolutely no issues, the composition of fiberglass does not deteriorate in colder temperatures. Think of OE manufactured cars such as Corvettes, etc. They are mostly composed of fiberglass bodies. I've seen a few being daily driven in the winter as well. It is also extensively used in boats, airplanes and even semi-truck cabs.
Rust prevention is as good as factory if they are sealed properly. As long as there is no bare metal exposed to the elements with coat of primer, undercoat etc. You will not have any issues. Properly sealing the flares with no gaps is also key.
There has been a lot of hype on these fenders for years and years but unfortunately there isn't too many people in the US that have them in possession and installed. (There is at least 2 guys on here that recently just got them and are awaiting installation). I plan on daily driving through harsh Chicago winters with them on with air cup coilovers and I didn't have any second thoughts about it. It's all about the small preventive steps to prevent any major issues. If you are still interested in ordering, Please send me a PM and I can have you reserved on the 1st shipment.
I've just read through almost all of the posts since you undertook this ambitious project and must commend you for the time and diligence you've demonstrated on behalf of the group. I also thank you for your prompt response to my inquiry.
Pardon my ignornacne however, but what do the letters PM signify?
Thank you for the kind words. I'm very dedicated on finding rare parts for any cars or projects I acquire. This time I'm able to offer a solution to getting these in the states due to my work experience.

* Maximum people for 1st order is 7 sets, Deadline for full deposit Dec. 1*
FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS. We may have to extend date if minimum 7 is not met. Please advise
Good luck guys! I paid much more for my HMS kit. The parts are currently stashed awaiting install. I plan on moulding the pieces on and possibly having the shop add to the kit to make it a bit wider. The longer I wait though, the more I think about adding other body mods to the list and just getting it done all at once.
And lets not get into the whole wheel shopping. I plan on getting air ride installed as well, so the car won't have these on until sometime in 2016. Possibly 2017 depending on all the things I've been piling up.
Yes, I'm in the same boat. I have all my exterior parts collecting and many sets of wheels to sell and put together a set custom spec'd wheels.
What air suspension are you running?
I'm still debating because I don't to be fully dumped on air suspension and I'm still looking for a cup kit for my existing coilovers.

I am running Accuair management, with 2 compressors, E Level, I Level and the strut's set that they advertise on their website. It drive verry nice and the struts are fully ajustable in rebound and height (like coilovers + the bags wich replace the coilspring). I only drag race my car for me it is perfect. But of course it is not intented for the track.
Her is a shot at the lowest I cant drive without annything rubbing
We may have to leave the Group Buy open since a few people backed out.
I suppose its the holiday madness but no worries. I have updated the list with some more reservations so if that goes through, there will be only one more spot to fill.
P.S. Anthony_D the car looks great, I love the height!
I've only heard great things about Accuair. I can't wait to see the outcome of everyone's car once after the transformation.

Every single day, I day dream about running wider wheels and tires for my C63.

Topsun (Thank you!) from the Netherlands gave me a great amount of information regarding the installation process. His estate is the one shown in the installation video:
Installation we have done ourselves, along with one of my boys. It took around 2 days.
First put on the fenders and they fit perfectly. Then I let them spray in the original color of the car, Obsidian Black. (Had the car wrapped in white.)
After the work on the Car, we glued on the (painted) fenders. This way you do not have to spray parts of your car. The space between the fenders and the car we have neatly filled with silicone, adhesive.
HMS also had seen the film and called me, they were surprised that I had not painted parts of the car.
I think this is the best way, if you close the space with polyester, silicone and then spraying, there will always be cracks. The metal from the car and the plastics from the fenders (HMS) have a different expansion coefficient.

Damn, looking at the potentially open spots is piquing my interest again, haha.
Do IT! I wish this was around I bought my set. When I did it alone, it was more money, more time and a bit more stress because I had to deal with language barriers and acceptable transfer protocols. When they finally arrived in the states, I had an issue with customs and had to pay even more money.
This group buy saves you from all of that.
The parts are top notch and you guys will be happy with your purchase. They also package the components very well. It's definitely worth the time and money invested.
Phil, It's an open invitation. You are welcome back.

You are 100% correct. The quality and care for this product is amazing.
Customs, duty and tax is a pain in the ***. I would know, I do this everyday!

I might have been too optimistic about doing a second shipment as seeing how the first shipment is filling up.
I believe this will be a one shipment deal and there are only 2 spots left.
Once these fill up, there will not be a second one. So if you miss out on this group buy, you will be expected to pay an extra $1500~$2000 on top of the group buy price listed. Which you are wasting your installation and paint costs on taxes and shipping costs.
