507 tire question

Just dreamin of spring when I can swap out the grips for the black 19" rims. The new W205 x63 mounts 245 front and 265 rear; does anyone have experience with that size on the stock 507 wheels? What about 275 out back? On paper its a better match with the 245 fronts but not sure if it matters to the electronics of the 507.

There are a lot of members here that are running 245 fronts and 265 rears. Some even run 275 rears.
245 front and 265 rear should be no problem. That's what I'll be doing when its time to change my tires. It should be sufficient for everyday driving. 275 in my opinion is really only required if you want to track the car.
I did drive my buddy's C63 with 245 fronts and 275 rears. Felt good. The 275s just looked a little stretched out/bulgy. Not everyone might like that look.

Thanks, appreciate your reply. Did your buddy have the stock 9" rear rims and was there any circumstances when he would experience fender rub with the 265s or 275s?

I think his wheels were just the 18". But no rubbing or anything. I think you should be fine as long as you're not lowered or anything.

I tracked my 507 with 245/40/18 and 265/35/18 on Clubsport suspension- zero issues of rubbing....using the OEM 18" open twin spoke rim that comes with all the normal and p31 c63 (2012-2014).

Brilliant, that takes care of the 18" question. Also wondering about the 19" 507 wheels, if anyone can help? I see you have lots of great upgrades, I'd like to pick your brain about the 440 cooling package sometime...

My 507 coupe with stock suspension is running 245/275 Sumitomos HTRZIII's and there is zero tire stretch and a clean, flush look.

I ran 245/265 on my C63 507 coupe with PSS tires. It was a great improvement over the stock Conti 5P.

I run 245/275 PSS on the 507 19" stock rims and haven't noticed any rubbing but upon further inspection, I do see a little rubbing in the back wheel well. When I put my hand back there it seems to have enough room but maybe it happened when I had 4 people in the car one time? I haven't noticed any difference with the electronics and keep it in sport mode.

Thanks all! MrRipfrog, that is a very interesting photo and I echo Thrilla's question; are you running the 275 rear with stock suspension?

Great, thanks. So a no-risk set-up would be 245 front, 265 rear on stock rims. LOL, just what Tire Rack says...

I have Trofeo R's on 265/30/19 in the rear.
If you have 18's you can run 35's

I did up a reference chart to visualize the "safe" ranges of tire sizes, using my 507 as the base.

That wouldn't be the evidence of MrRipfrog, and he's running a standard suspension with stock wheels. Not that I'm skeptical, just new to the car and want to sort some conflicting info. If your experience is different, can you please relate more details?

LOL, where I live "winter" can be 8 months of the year and I don't fancy a garage queen ;-)

I've been running that size tire for 5+ years, the back might rub the inside fender on a hard bump with people in the back but it's nothing to worry about.

I'm in etown too, thats why I feel bad for that car.

Cool, I hope we have a GTG this summer. On the official AMG forum there are nearly 100 owners registered in YEG, not counting the 'burbs. BTW, going in for 3M film today...
