That car is totaled, I feel bad for anybody that pays over $20k for that thing.
You can pretty much guarantee whoever buys this will be putting in a limitless amount of money into it, and it will always have that salvage title and will always have problems
If you have 45k, why in the world would you ever blow it on that car? You're already almost half way to a non-totaled BS
Considering that there are only about 100 CBS's in north America then it's something to look at for somebody that has more money than the average but if it was a brand new base c63 that is mass produced then yea u can say it ain't worth that penny.
The good news here is that unless its pushed the motor, there is likely no structural damage there and I doubt really any bodywork. The only real work is re and re of parts. I can't say that for sure from the pics of course, but I do somewhat know whereof I speak, having been rear ended into a multi car pile up. Ive had a couple of these things, that one will always be my fave.
I seen that CBS in person. First time laying eyes on one and the engine def seemed like it had all its pulleys in tact and no damage. Just can't figure out why this insurance company stamped this BS a salvage.
Its value as parts is so high, that when you do the math on what the repair costs, and consider the salvage value, its just easier to cut a cheque and send the owner back to the candy store.
This is happening more and more with high end cars.
Yea that makes sense but then it's like hurting the cars reputation after it been in a fender bender. Like for example a girl will lose her virginity but get called a hoe for that. It's kind of like with this BS now lol
I take it you mean by making it a salvage title, which is true. Its ridiculous some of the cars that have been totalled. Having said that, I can tell you that when I popped the one in the pic I WANTED them to total loss it, cos I was going to take a massive hit in value by having a 25 or 30k accident claim on it. So yeah the salvage title thing is a drag, but at least it was a conscious decision to buy it that way. What would really suck is buying a new BS, being in an accident and shaving >20k in value off cos you had a claim that never even caused any real structural or even body damage, and that a good set of snap on tools could fix. Pretty sure the owner wanted it written off, and may have even had the opportunity to have that fixed.
