Quote: It's not a poser thing with me. It's not a, "I worked hard to my AMG"(which I did). It's not even a, "My car is better than your car." It's just a sad thing to see an institution and something semi-rare to be dragged down by it's own company. To loose something special in the name of a few more dollars, probably more US dollars than any. We are loosing well-made, individuality inclined, and proper businesses and products more and more. It was just really uninspiring and a little sour to read this.
To get back on track since Avery derailed another thread, yes it is a shame to see the company having to go down this road again. Hopefully it will get back to the main "One man, One engine" philosophy.

Maybe that will give you a better bragging right to tell others that you have a 'one man,one engine' AMG over the regular ones

LOL.
Turbo cars has way much more potential and way much cheaper to modify as compared to non turbos..

I'm actually pretty interested in seeing a full SC W204 C63 vs a full blown crazily modified W205 C63S.
Results will be pretty amazing.

I guess that he is using a BMW 335i 3.0L turbo vs a BMW E92 M3 (4.0L V8) as comparison.
I do not doubt that the potential of modifying a 3.0L to make it JUST AS FAST but i doubt that it will be possibly faster given the amount of torque of the 6.2L

Not sure what is meant by this. I bought my car for pure enjoyment, not for bragging rights. I was stating that the AMG name is getting extremely diluted with the addition of the other models being thrown in. It will not hold that same true AMG meaning as what the previous models had. It is great that Mercedes/AMG wants to bring in and capture new buyers but only time will tell how it all goes.

The AMG badge doesn't really make sense because C450/C43 engines are made by MB.
The C63 engines are made by AMG, justifying the AMG badge. The C450/C43 has no justification for the AMG badge.

considering how many real AMG's there are in the world...is it really a "one man one engine" car? makes me wonder how many employees AMG has or do they work in a "sweat shop" type of environment...24/7, no breaks, no holidays. not trying to diss anybody, just wondering.

This idiot again. Just wants to talk about how ****ty the C63 when he owns one. Probably another attempt at bragging about how he can afford better because he owns a ****ty little business. COOL BRO.

Why a non-enthusiast would waste his time on an enthusiast forum is beyond me.

Owning a landscaping business and limo company doesn't make you Elon Musk.

You should stop defining your worth based on what you have compared to others; in the end it doesn't matter. However, having a ****ty attitude and an inability to spell does. You should work on that.

I've been running the same 2 IT companies for the last 8-9 years. And I never said I was better, I said the opposite actually, I mean come on..you guys are bashing people for buying a C43..what if your grand parents bought one? are you going to mock them? go read what i wrote, i said not everyone needs 500hp under their foot or wants it, so Mercedes is doing what corporations do, appealing to a certain demographic and their needs

I think what we're tryna say is, we're glad there's a model between the C400 and C63, but it shouldn't have the AMG badge on it.

EXACTLY. Nobody is bashing anyone for buying a car. We believe Mercedes should not be putting AMG badges on cars that have only AMG wheels or cosmestic enhancements. It dilutes the AMG brand for the sake of greed.

3rd grade reading comprehension, Avery has.

"This is shameful" "almost amg" thats called indirect bullying, i'm not sure what society/generation you're from ..what do you think if some 70 year old person comes on here to check out the new C43 and sees guys saying "what a joke" "thats pathetic" ...they're going to think "oh..what a nice group of guys they are, not" ..not all of you but you get the point

And you do realize the C43 AMG was out long before the C63 AMG ...right?

I think we are talking about something different.

My comments are not directed towards the C43. The C43 is/was an AMG.

I'm talking about the C350 AMG and similar models: http://www.caranddriver.com/mercedes-benz/c-class

The whole point that we are all trying to make I believe is the following:

Mercedes is calling something not what it is and by doing that, makes the thing that it is worth less.

It's not about bigger egos or thinking we drive the greatest car on the planet. My friends constantly asked why I went with a C class instead of a CLS. To them, the CLS was about appearance and getting looks from chicks that its an expensive car. I bought my C for that big engine stuffed underneath the hood. That same engine that was found in almost all the other AMG models.

By calling a souped up C400 or 450 or whatever you want to call it devalues the overall brand.

Let's call a spade a spade. It's not an AMG, it shouldn't be called one.

And as for some 70 year old coming on here and seeing what we think, if that's the target market you think Mercedes is after with this particular car you're waaaay off. It's targeted at the people who are buying C350 and putting badges and exhaust tips on their car and then TRY to call it a C63 AMG. (I also want to point out I have no issues with anyone who does that but keeps their badges on or debadge, those guys do it because it pleases them and aren't trying to be something they aren't). The target is people who want to run around saying they drive an "AMG" when, they dont.

The C450 is actually a very good car, with 4Matic and some mods, it can be very quick.
BUT it still shouldn't be called an AMG.

IF AMG guys build 2 engines per day it would have taken them roughly 50 engine builders to get to that goal. Just saying.
I think we might start seeing more AMG cars with production engines soon :/
