I think you may be right. After review my log of the engine codes I noticed that it was cylinders #2 and #4 which were misfiring, being that they are adjacent, this would also point to head gasket failure. Valvestud was kind of enough to look up my engine # for me and confirm that it was about 400 engines after MB switched to the revised head bolt design. I dropped off the car this morning and should get a call later on today. If it is the head gasket I'm sure they will notice the coolant in the oil. Fingers crossed.

Ok guys. Got a call back from Mercedes Benz of Houston North today.... The culprit? A failed valve guide on the passenger-side bank. This means the whole head has to be replaced. The white smoke was burning oil, not coolant. Waiting to hear back if my warranty will cover the cost. Knock on wood for me!!! Anyone ever heard of a valve guide failing on an M156?

That's weird. First one I've heard of. Your warranty should cover it.

Well I received the best news that I could have; My 3rd party warranty is covering all $11,000 of the repair costs.
$8,500 for the new head. $2,500 to replace my glitching command screen.
Should get the car back "around this time next week". Mercedes Benz Houston North has really gone above and beyond to take car of me. When I dropped off my car last week they put me in a 2016 GLK to get around in until I get my C63 back. Not a bad car! Hopefully this is the end of my AMG pains for now..

Thanks guys I agree! I'm definitely looking forward to being able to FINALLY enjoy my C63 after owning it for 2 months! The warranty was with Kornerstone and only cost me about $3,000.

I was originally told by MB that the car would be ready during the middle of this previous workweek, but now it's been pushed back to at least monday. I'm really quite upset at this point given that I payed for the car OVER 2 MONTHS AGO and I still don't have a car that functions as it is intended to. At least this hopefully means that they're being thorough. I'm almost expecting to get the car back and have something else be wrong with it as well. My faith could use some restoring.

THE NIGHTMARE CONTINUES
Well I found out why it was taking longer than expected..
MB finished assembling everything and ran to car to test it, it was still misfiring and showed low compression on cylinder #2. After some probing they discovered that the cylinder wall had been scored by a warped ring, they say that either this is what caused the valve guides to fail, or the valve guides caused the ring to fail. Either way, I need an entire new short block. $20,000.
Waiting to hear back on my warranty coverage. I knew it couldn't be as simple as swapping on a new head, thats just my luck.

Tuff luck indeed!
Did the dealership said the root cause of the issue? Like poor maintenance history or human interference? Or just bad build?

I think the loss in back pressure from the leaking header gasket may have been related to it. As I know that a gas leak at the headers can damage the valve train.

Wow, that is tough luck. Hopefully the warranty covers that as well (don't see why not). Just think of it this way, getting all the problems out of the way now so you can enjoy the car later, it will be worth it.

Sorry to hear about your issues. I hope your warranty covers a new shortblock.
If they do, you will have an almost entirely new engine.

I got a call today with the warranty verdict..... COVERED.
Kornerstone wrote MB a check for $2X,XXX this morning and now my new short block is on its way from Affälterbach to Houston. This was a big relief, and I mean a big, big relief. Maybe this is how it was intended to be? I'm beyond happy to be (Re)starting my C63 ownership with a fresh motor and freshly rebuilt transmission, after these months of headache after headache! MB says it will take about a week to get the parts, and 2 days for the install. I believe those to be generous estimates though and I am not really expecting to get the car back until the second week of march. But however long it takes, I can now rest easy knowing that I'll be getting back a pristine C63.
There will surely be a celebration burnout video to conclude this thread.
