By the way..... after I proceeded to **** all over this thread, my car just started starting in 2nd when in M mode over the past few weeks (I have to shift down to get going in 1st). Sigh......

Are you sure it is actually in 2nd? Sure it is not 1st or third? Is it showing M when it really is in C?
Read the resolution of my problem that couldn't happen and start there.

If I cold start the car and immediately go to M before moving, it will start in 2 for a minute or 2 until the temps come up a little. When does yours do it? Did you change anything recently like any of your softwares or hardwares?

I thought it might have to do with the cold weather, but I couldn't remember it ever happening before this winter. At my old place I would never start in M, always C, so maybe that's why. Yes it only occurs during the first 5min or so. Thx

I believe the ECU is programmed to prevent us going full throttle when cold so you could be right. It is a cold temp thing that allows the oil to get moving up to the upper galleries of the engine.

Yeah. It's only started since it's gotten cold. I haven't noted the exact temp that trips it but it's definitely on cold days. When its in the 60s or higher it never does it, even if the car has sat for a couple days.
