New 507 owner: S vs. S+
Greetings, just picked up my 507 last Friday and have gone through the manual (as well as asked the dealership)....but I can't seem to find the answer.
I don't believe the 2014 C63 has active dampening suspension so aside from shift point changes and quickness, what does S do over C mode and what does S+ do over S?
THX!

congrats on the car! post some pics
in my experience, going into s mode over c switches you from second gear starts to first, and you get more aggressive shift points as well as blips on downshifts. i believe s+ mode merely makes the shifts themselves more aggressive, so they will be more responsive but not as smooth. i have a 2012 but i dont believe there is any difference in the transmission behavior in the 507. im sure other members with 507s can elaborate.

S+ will also cause the RPMs to "hang" in the lower gear for a bit when taking your foot off gas during a rapid or prolonged acceleration period instead of upshifting into a higher gear which drops RPM. This freaks some people out when they don't expect / understand it.....the intent is to keep it ready to pounce when you get back on throttle during aggressive driving. If it hangs on you and you don't want it to when in S+, simple feather the throttle a bit and it will upshift to next gear.

Yes! I did notice that....and it did freak me out. I could see why it does it. I also noticed if you try and shift up to the next gear after letting off a bit it won't shift unless you feather the throttle.
Do you know if an ECU tune will change this behavior? (prevent it from hanging onto the gear)

Drive in S or manual if not liking that feature.

I feel like if hanging in S+ say in like 3rd and I want 4th I can just shift up using the paddles. You guys are saying it won't actually shift up until you feather the gas some? I'll have to try it out.

You can make it do anything you want when using paddles. We are talking about just putting it in S+ in drive and letting it do the work itself.
