Larger diameter tire in rear

Anyone successfully run a larger diameter tire in the rear exceeding the 3% tolerance for the esp and tcs?

I have a 235/35/19 in front and want to to install a 265/35/19 in the rear. It is 3.1% larger in diameter compared to the front, will I run into any issues?

No, you will not have any issues with ESC ABS or anything similar. I am running 255/40/18 winter tires, 3.9% bigger than stock and 2.5% larger than the front. Normally the fronts are 1.8% larger than the rears, so the change vs the stock setup is 2.4 + 1.8 = 4.3%. Still no issue.

I think he is referring to a difference between front and rear running diameters.

No he'll be fine. I've run up to 3% difference with drag radials no problem.

Main concern is the profile not the width. 35 front and rear is what I am trying to achieve.

Forgive me if you already know all of this, but if not here's a quick lesson in tire math.

Most people want the front and rear tire size to look about the same from the side. In addition to aesthetics, it also keeps the car level.

If you are trying to achieve the appearance of the same amount of tire height on each wheel, using the same profile for both won't work. The profile number is a percent, not a measurement. On a 35 profile tire, the height is 35% of the width. If you get a wider rear tire and keep same the profile, your rear tire will be taller.

On your 235/35/19 front, the tire height is 35% of 235mm = 82.25mm

People who want the tires to look the same from the side will match that front tire with a 275/30 rear because the tire height is .30x275=82.5mm. If you're lowered and a 275 won't fit, 265/30 is next best option at 79.5mm.

If you instead use a 265/35/19 in the rear, tire height is .35x265=92.75mm.

Yes I am aware of this info. Thank you. Max I can go is 265 but that's on a 10.5 wheel. Reason why I want to go a profile size up, to not put too much stress in the stretch. The stretch itself doesn't help the appearance either. This is all temporary anyways till my body shop is finished with a few projects. Once he widens the rear fenders I'll be able to fit hopefully a 285.

it's good at 265

i have a forgstar wheel 52 offset 19 x 10 and i install 265 /30/19 and it fit just right

watchout for your weight ratio at 93 it's important don't choose a 87 rating the weight ratio is too low for the C63

Why so hung up on front and rear being 35? That makes no sense. It's just a number so that you can get the correct look or fit with tires on a car. It's not like there is a coolness factor to having the same profile on both ends.
Stagger fit cars (oem or aftermarket upgraded) pretty much never use the same profile front and rear.
