Did you succeed?

I have already pruchased the 390mm Black Series brakes, but still want air cooling.
So I am interested in air brake ducts as well, and I'm very surprised almost nobody untill now has done this.
Well, almost nobody.. Some guys in Germany have done it with the pre-facelift bumper.
As you can see on the second photo, they have removed the foglights as air ducts.
I own a facelift C63, so I will need to do this with the updated bumper, like you.

I would love to do that! Especially since I hate the fog lights. Making them into functional brake ducts would be awesome.

Thanks for this

No, haven't done it yet. Have been working on a few other little things, busy at work, and waiting for my 44O kit to arrive(I was just notified today that it shipped out to me). So I'll tackle this pretty soon.

Teaser pic from before final sanding. Yes I did this in my living room. My wife is the best.

Just washed it and waiting for it to dry before fastening the new mesh.

Got some spare parts if anyone needs them LOL.

507 DRL surrounds, DRLs, and OE mesh. Make me an offer of you want any of this.

Does anyone know if I can turn off DRLs in the engineering menu? I'm guessing that I'm going to get errors as soon as I turn on the car without them. Thanks.

You will need to put resistors there in lieu of the DRLs to simulate they are there. Yes you can turn them off in the light settings menu, but you should add the resistors in anyway.

Finally done. Had to go get more hot glue sticks to attach the mesh this morning. Going to put it on the car. Kept all OE mounting points so the bumper won't be going anywhere. Excited, it looks MEAN.

Looks good Blkrokt. Nice job.
Did you have a look at how you are going to run the ducting for the brake cooling.

Thanks man. Yeah I had a look around. Passenger side not so tough. Drivers side I'm going to have to move some stuff around. I'm waiting until my 44O kit is installed because the configuration is going to be very different and may change my plans. Totally do-able, just have to get it to it's final state first.

Thanks. Soon, yes. I have the hood vents and other hardware on order. Just have to figure out the measurements, how to get them located properly. Then my Dremmel is really going to get a workout.

I actually like the NACA vents on the Mansory S63, and am considering this also. One extracts air from the engine bay better (507), while these get more cool air into the engine bay. Unsure which one would be more effective. Or if I should install regular old louvers.

Jim, regarding hood, you want the air to get extracted there in order to prevent heat build up in the higher areas under the hood. That way the airflow through the radiator gets increased as a bonus.
Regarding bumper - indeed looks great on the outside! Now you need to follow through with what is under the skin: The 44O oil cooler for example needs good ducting to be effective. You now have a bigger opening for it, but need to fabricate a duct that mates up with both the cooler and the bumper. Maybe the BS duct is a closer match and can be modified (details in my build thread). The cooler is the same, so the BS duct bolts right on.
Also for the brake ducts you really should try to get some sort of inlet nozzle/funnel, even if it is behind the mesh and does not use the entire mesh. A funnel and a smooth transition will increase flow a lot.

You are breaking ground, man!

Im with wobble here. Hot air extraction is job one. I always think of this like a subway car...get the people out first, and then there is more room for others to get on. But if you try to board the new passengers first its just a gong show. Extract that hot air, and it will all flow better.

Congratulations, you have found the one product in the Mansory catalog that is not so completely over the top and repulsive. I like those vents. And your front end looks BA-DASS.
