instrustment turn red when driving hard

Does any know why my instrument cluster turn red when driving hard? Specially approaching red line. Returns normal after shifted into upper gear.
This is the second time i notice it.

It's a shift light. Happens in manual mode. Also happens with excessive wheels spin. The car is telling you to shift so the wheels stop spinning.

It's the German way of saying, "hey you, shift the damn car, Schwein!"

It's also a visual reminder to shift so that you can be focusing on the road/track and not staring at the tachometer.

It also happens when you "think" it's in S+ but it's actually in manual and you get on it going up the on ramp.

Ask me how I know...

I always thought this function on the PFL was cool, too bad they ditched it with the FL tach.

Yes but it is not as hardcore as the PFL tach where all the bezels flash red.

It does happen before redline, but I think they know it takes a while for the gear change to happen after you flip the paddle.

This. If you shift it when that red flashes in M mode it should shift perfectly giving that nice bark and most power.

This and this - as fast as you think you are, there is a bigger than you think delay between seeing indicator to shift, pulling the paddle, and the shift executing. Get good at the timing and it'll snap off perfect up shifts every time.. or you slam into the rev limiter...

LOL
Love this feature. When it turns red, depending on the gear, I hold it a little while longer then I shift. Perfect redline shifts, everytime.

Hhmmm I don't seem to have that issue
The light starts flashing at 6500rpm or around there.
I tend to hit the paddle at around 6800rpm and it actually shifts at around 7000rpm, which I think is perfect
