Thats the noodle float and yes its a home made door ding device.....$1.99 at walmart...lol.
I used to put magnets inside, took it out cause I got paranoid, it might raise the wrap.

If that's the case, there's not much to roll and you run the risk of accidentally pulling the fender which opens up a huge can of worms...

However, I've come to realize the risk of cracking paint just isn't worth it to me no matter who's doing the job, myself included.
To each is own, though. Good luck!

Or is it that they don't help with rubbing but help with your concerns re tire rubbing directly against the wrap?
BTW if you do have someone roll your fenders, do NOT get it done at the same shop that did the blue pin striping.

BLKROKT has explained why it only happens under load.
The question remains as as to where you are actually rubbing. Your tyre residue is at the location of the arch lip but that is also consistent with the guard and rear skirt internal join lips - that is where it would land when flung outwards. I did not clearly identify the rub point (rear left for my R hand drive car) until I removed the wheel and had a good look inside the wheel arch. I saw that the panel join lip had been rubbing so i hammered it flat and no more rubbing.
