My C63 doesn't have any cold start , why ?
Hi guys I just purchased a pre owned 2009 C63
My first ever AMG and previously have been driving M cars .
In my previous car the M3 the cold start in the morning is something I look forward to . Love any car on a cold start. Great way to start my day with the sound hehe
Unfortunately I realize my c63 doesn't do that . When I start the car it goes to like 600-700rpm right away and is quiet . It only holds the rev at 1200rpm like 1 in 10 times I cold start the car
Some say it's due to tuning and the car I bought might have been tuned .
Is this true ? Or something is wrong with my car

Yeah. Def too warm right now. Oil temp has to be like 90F or less on start for there to be a cold start. And the car has to sit for a couple hours. For example, if you start the car and move it into the driveway for an hour and then start to move it back inside, you won't get 2 cold starts close together.

I'm from Singapore . Left the car parked in the garage for 24 hours but it didn't bark as I expect . In fact most of the time there isn't any cold start
Anyone knows what's the oil temperature threshold before it gives that cold start ?
Some say if my car is flashed local tuners here actually deleted the cold start feature as it is not relevant in my country
Temperatures here ranges from 28 degree celcius to 36 degree celcius
And I noticed the m156 gets hot real quick about 105 degree celcius of oil temp when driving

don't be gullible to what others say. It's an attribute of the car and not the tune. It should be easier to tell with a tune but that also depends on the tuner. You could always remove the tune or reflash the tune to see.

I'm pretty sure is the hot weather influence.
I live in Macau and is quiet hot here too. I dont have cold starts on real hot days even if i leave the car overnight. My oil temp starts at 37.
But even if i had normal cold starts, it usually last around a minute.

Has nothing to do with hot weather.
Cold starts are to warm the cats ..... they're implemented in the tune.
My car cold starts most days.. but sometimes it does not. I find it very weird.

Has everything to do with hot weather and how cold the engine is. Hotter areas means your car will cool slower than in colder area.
Between star up, your engine may not be cool enough to require a cold start up.
Also the OP is not sure wether he had a tunr not.
It is more important to warn up your engine and oil in cold weather than warming up your cat.

It has everything to do with how hot it is. You said it yourself, yours sometimes doesn't cold start. I bet you that's on pretty warm/hot days or while the car has only been sitting for a couple hours and is still hot.

Weather it was 10 degrees or 100 degrees... it would always cold start and sound like a complete animal. As long as it sat for 4+ hours....
The C63 is a hit or miss. I really look forward to that aggressive 'bark' followed by the angry rumble in the mornings.... sometimes I leave my house disappointed

Think I've figured out the cold start sequence in this car...
What I've noticed is if oil temp is 30+ degrees, car will not cold start. If oil temp is below 30 degrees, it cold starts every time.
