LT Headers/mid pipes sound review

LT Headers/mid pipes sound review
I installed LT headers with mid pipes catless with stock resonator and mufflers, i am shocked how the sound is loud, most of the reviews i have seen did not describe how loud is it, maybe it is not my taste, but the sound is unacceptable for me very loud, even in videos the sound is not like real, i am trying to drive the car rpm below 2000/2500 with light throttle, cause above that with mid to full throttle make everyone look at you like a race car,
my question here is how to calm this sound without reinstalling rear cats? H pipe?

There's a set of headers out there that almost have no sound. They're used in the new Prius and the power gains are tremendous.

There is almost nothing you can do to quiet down LTH aside from installing extra mufflers or a valved exhaust. Even then, it's still going to be loud.

Akrapovic exhaust will calm it down a lot. Expect to pay a lot for that though.

I was messing with you don't get your panties in a bunch. Not that serious, a simple search would have led you to Akra mufflers.

You can quiet down the LTH's tremendously without adding anything aside from the Akra catback.

You can add resonators / high flow cats but that will restrict some airflow. To be honest I don't know how you didn't know the Long tubes were loud on the C63. There's only A million posts about it on here.

I don't think anyone needed a sound review. Like Kriston said, it's well-documented that they are loud as ****. Anyone who's spent more than 5-10min on here knows that. You don't have a lot of options.

1. Revert back from catless to catted.
2. Akra mufflers.
3. Remove headers.
Yes, headers ARE that loud. The cars you are comparing to all have superchargers and less displacement. Not exactly apples to apples.
But hey, at least everyone and their mother wants a set of headers for the c63 so if the sound isn't for you and you have to take the headers off you'll recoup some of the cost

I don't have LT headers. But from my readings, it seems like adding hfc with X pipes in place of the secondary cats, OEM resonators, and a quality aftermarket catback tones it down a bit. Of course after all that, gains will be a little less, and you would've spent more money.

How much did you spend on the headers and install, just curious, also what brand are the headers ,I have sec cat delete as well as resonators, way to quiet for me thinking of getting lth but having a hard time spending 4000 for headers and install

How about replacing your OEM resonator with a borla muffler? I don't remember who it was but someone where I am at with a CLS 55 installed LTH, thought it was too loud, went to performance muffler shop and they replaced the OEM resonator with a borla muffler and it helped a lot in drone and noise reduction. Make sure you keep your resonator. Good luck.

The reason it's so loud compared to the M113 is the exhaust ports on the M113 are tiny compared to the M156, which are possibly the largest exhaust ports I have ever seen in my life. It's at least 2.5x the size (and roughly the same sound increase as well)
The primary determinant of exhaust sound is combustion cylinder & exhaust port geometry and size. The best thing for sound is to run shorties with a larger exhaust flange. The log style manifold helps cancel out all the sound pulses, thus making it more quiet.
The only way to quiet down the car with headers is an insanely long resonator + high flow cats, plus a huge canister muffler.

But I'd look into changing out your stock mufflers to valved mufflers first if you still want it loud but quiet when cold started or driving past cops lol
