B0 Service Question
I brought my car to the dealership for my B0 service. It will be a pretty expensive service but I am worried that I am way overpaying. I am looking at about a $760 price for the following items:
-Change engine oil/filter
-Replace bake fluid
-Cabin air filter
-Transmission oil/filter
-The usual visual inspection
Also, the tech said that the differential fluid needed to be changed for an additional $98. But to my understanding the diff fluid is never changed with the exception of the LSD (which my car does not have).
Any thoughts?

I just got off the phone with my tech...I asked about the transmission fluid change and he said that it was NOT being done and that it would cost an additional $550. So I am not at a total price of just shy of $1400.

Locally, the standard B service costs around $400, the trans service another $400, and the brake fluid around $200. So that sounds like a good deal at least in my neck of the woods.

My recommendation is to take it to a good independent shop and pay much less. There is no warranty-preservation requirement to have maintenance performed at the dealership.

I plan to go the indie route when my warranty expires, but I bring it to the dealership for the sole purpose of streamlining the warranty repair process. I've had several warranty repairs done and the whole experience is great (and I like to have a loaner while work is being done).
Sadly, I do not feel that I have developed much of a relationship with the dealership so it is hard to not second guess the prices. And $1600 seems like alot and is MUCH more than I have ever paid for a service (I did all of the maintenance on my C350 to 65k miles and I think the most I ever paid for a service was $700).

A few months ago I paid about AUD 2100 for 3 year service at MB dealer in Sydney. Oil & filter, air filters, cabin filter, transmission & diff service. Still in shock.

Funny thing I saw your first post and was like wow $760 with the trans fluid that's a deal. $1400 does sound much more in line with what a dealership would charge and is not a rip off imo...you pay a premium for official dealership service. An independent might be closer to $900 maybe?
If you have a torx screwdriver you can change the cabin air filter in 15 minutes. Visual inspection is pointless - you don't need to pay an hour of labor for someone to check your turn signals and another half hour to reset the service indicator (which takes 30 seconds).
So you might be able to a la carte oil/brake/transmission fluids for $1000 at the dealership.

I literally just had this service done a couple days ago. Was quoted around $1428 but ended up paying around $1200 due to not needing the engine filter changed and something else.
So your price seems about right for what you mentioned. 1/4 to half of the cost is labor sadly.

Thanks for the replies everyone. My total came to $1350 which I guess is pretty average based on replies in this thread. I do not recall a service costing nearly that much with my C350 but I also never had to do the transmission flush.
Regarding the cabin air filter, I was going to do it myself as I always have, but the SA said that would only reduce the parts cost; about $70. So not enough to make a notable difference.

SERVICE B
I had the service interval warning appear on my 2016 C63 AMG. I am just under 31K miles. I was interested in figuring out what this service entailed.
I don't need an oil change right now. I have an oil filter and new oil plug to charge the oil. It has been 5K miles since it was charged. I had transmission filter and fluid flush done recently along with driveline service. The dealership did a free general inspection.
I have new spark plugs, engine air filters, tires, brake rotors, brake pads and rear caliper piston housings.
I bought this car used with just over 26K miles. I switched to ceramic brake pads so now people don't laugh when I pull up to the stop light with grinding brakes. Those OEM pads are really great. Of course replacing the parts is cheaper than having it serviced. Upon disassembly I discovered the rear brake calipers looked ugly, I decided to reassemble the rear brakes and order new caliper piston housings. Then went back and completed the job. It was a pain taking apart and putting back together and taking apart again then finally finishing the job.
I don't see any value in Service B.
Service B has no value for me.
I have say to swapping out the grill and blacking out the trim really makes this car.
