2013 Mercedes C63 AMG
New to AMG experience
Hi Guys,
Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section.
I'm writing from Atlanta, GA. I just purchased a 2011 c63 AMG with 58k miles.
I've put roughly 20 miles on the car and I must say that I am very impressed with the car. I love the luxury part and the comfort that comes with the power.
I have always owned a Subaru, even tried a BMW, 5 series. The BMW was by far the worst car I've owned. It kept breaking down to the point that I just traded the darn thing.
I recently made a decision to sell my Subaru STi and join the AMG family. I just couldn't find anything in the ballpark that could beat the 6.3(6.2) four door v8. Especially after reading good reviews about it. I mainly traded the Sti so that I could get something that's just as fun, if not more, but something that I could also drive my kids in as well.
So that's what brought me here.
I'm still researching these cars and learning. But for now I just wanted to introduce myself and I hope to meet some of you over time.

I think everyone hates the side markers because they are a US thing and the non US cars look cleaner without them. Since it is for the US they look a bit tacked on since they are just an afterthought to adhere to regulation.

Now tell me they dont look like they could come off a 1989 Oldsmobile Alero or whatever the hell they call their midsize crap cars then.
So dated. So ugly. So out of place.
Must be removed.
Welcome to the club, Slow.

I actually bought the smoked ones, sanded them down to remove the numberings and make smooth, then applied the vinyl. If you don't want light to shine through and not have the car give you an error code (for bulb out). Take a led for it, break the led's with a screwdriver and plug back in. No code thrown, no light shining through.
You'll start to notice it now. Fully modded cars that have every bell and whistle....then those nasty orange dumba** side cones.

Yeah, I suspect now I'll be convinced I don't like them due to what everybody is saying in this forum.
I'm guessing they aren't required to pass inspection. Has anybody had any issues passing inspection with those lights removed / blocked / different colored?

Enjoy the C63
Unlike you I kept my 04 STi. In the process of having a shortblock rebuilt, just dropped it off this weekend.
Would recommend you consider a tune as a good starting place

I live in Lawrenceville, near Suwanee. I'm down the street from Collins Hill park off of Russell Road.
Nice car btw.
I'm not sure on the mods just yet. Maybe a supercharger down the road.

There are indicators in the front lights and on the mirrors, so I don't see the point that of the additional markers.

The c-class crowd is lucky. Go look at where the reflectors are on the E-class. Hint: inside the headlight. I'm sitting here trying to justify the expense of getting euro-headlights for mine.
Indicators (signals) are different than the reflectors and not related.

Are the reflectors legally required in Canada? I'm thinking of just removing them altogether since making them clear or wrapping them just draws more attention IMO. I assume it would leave a hole though?

I think they are. But......are you going to let laws get in the way of making your car look cool? Where are your priorities, man? Get your head on straight and GET IN THE GAME, SON.
