E63 wheels on C63 question.

I've not had four people in the car to check for rubbing, but I've had a track day with them and didn't hear any rubbing at all. When I pulled them afterwards, there was one small rub mark on the right rear wheelwell liner. The liner is a flexible plastic material and not rigidly mounted, so it's not a concern. Caliper clearance is huge. Rear suspension has great wheel clearance but the tire clearance is paper-thin - no way to squeeze a 285 in here.

.
I would have spoken up earlier but I got threads confused, and I originally thought his comment was regards to the silver one in the other thread, which looks better. I agree with him for all the reasons he said, plus on this car those rims somehow manage to make me think of M3 wheels.
Sorry, but you DID ask. I think its a great car, deserving of better wheels and better fitment.

There are numerous online sites that will allow you to compare wheel sizes and tire fitments to determine if they will clear. As always people who ask these questions focus on wheel size without offset considerations and getting wide wheels with the hope they can stretch tires too narrow for the wheel for asthetic reasons which compromises safety. With shallow walls and a stretched tire it will come as no surprise that at some time the tire will roll off the rim with obvious results.
Is not the rule of thumb that you can go +1 or maybe +2 up in size while retaining overall diamter?
