SHIPPING 507 FROM BAY AREA TO LA
Hey guys,
Can any of you recommend a good shipping service in California? I'm looking to ship my 507 from Stanford, CA to LA, CA. Thanks for the help!

+1 for Uship - things seem to work out pretty well!

I've used Reliable shippers before. White glove service with a price.

its hard because u got slow asses driving in the left lane and u gotta pas them before you reach the 18 wheelers.
unless u do straight shot 70mph no passing.
and then when you hit the tijon mountain u use alot of gas going up the hill

bay area isn't far at all, I know you said you don't wanna drive it but I say: Drive it. Or even tow it, get a truck for 65$ for the day and borrow a friends trailer. I wouldn't trust a shipping company but thats just me.

Use uShip to run an auction for your transport, then call some of the shippers directly. It'll save you a lot of $. uShip charges fees to both you and the shipping brokers.
I just did this and saved $300 from the $1800 quote on uShip.

350 miles?!...That's my routine one-way trip to the closest metro. I do a round trip on that at least once a month. Last major trip I drove to and fro was a destination 1600 miles away, a month ago...piece of cake. Just remember cars like ours are mass-produced and nowhere near collectors' items. Just enjoy it and drive it.

Whoa! I totally misread that. I thought he meant Stamford, CT to LA, CA. I should either stop reading the forums through my iPhone or get checked for glasses. Just drive that ****!

Lol not that this helps at all but I bought my car in the Bay Area and drove it down to San Diego sight unseen. If you want to make it quick take the 5, if you want to enjoy yourself take the 101 or 1. Not a bad drive at all, enjoy it and the car. I would be hard felt to trust a shipper with my old civic much less a nice mercedes. Good luck tho man!

I think the OP doesn't have the time to go pick up the car and drive it down or just doesn't feel like road tripping. In any event, I've only shipped my car once, and it was with Reliable. This was many moons ago when I moved across the country, and it was for a Honda. They were very reliable (as the name implies, lol) and reasonably priced. Of course since it was my Honda, I didn't choose their closed carrier option so the car was pretty dirty when it arrived, but it did arrive exactly on schedule and unscathed. GL.
