First AMG Purchase - Good buy? Thoughts?

Happily, owning a used C63 isn't like this:

With the exception of the headbolt issue, our cars are really pretty reliable and generally not likely to generate big repair bills. I'm past warranty and getting an extended one seemed like throwing money away. However, if a $3K bill would sink your budget, you'll sleep a lot better with the warranty. An additional bonus in your case - you won't be sleeping alone . . .

$3k for 3 years is a good price for a warranty on these cars. And if it truly covers everything like they say, I would definitely get the warranty. Especially with the known head bolt issue on the 09 cars.
