Seat belts
I'm about 5 days into owning my "new" to me '12 C63. It has rained every day since I took delivery, but still it is a magnificent car, rain included. I have even figured out much of the Command technology ... sorta at least, but am gaining on it.
I have a seat belt question. I have a hell of a time reaching it. I'm not a big guy, maybe 5'8" on a good day, but I have the seat moved back fairly far, with my legs pretty well splayed out ... a comfortable, near race car position. I then need to contort myself, dislocate my shoulder type, to reach and retrieve the seat belt. Is there a work around? My daughter has a C300, and it has a "guide" on the side of the seat to assist the belt. There does not appear to be room for such on the seats in my car.
Yesterday, I programmed one of the memory seat positions to slide back all of the way, which gives me a sporting chance at accessing the belt a bit more successfully. Any better ideas? I'd like to think I'm smarter than a seat belt, but maybe not.
Thanks,

Ok fkfleischli, just to understand the situation, I went out and tried all sorts of positions in the seat. I am around 6ft tall, I had the seat as far back as it can go and also had it all the way forward until I could lick my knees. I still could very easily reach across my body and grab the seat belt. Not sure if you have t-rex arms or a disability, or just never thought about it (reaching across), so I don't want to poke fun...too much.
They also have devices like this to help with reaching if that's the case.

Never thought about reaching across with my right arm. I will give that a shot.

I have had my right shoulder rebuilt/cleaned up twice. I just never think of using it unless necessary. It is not a particularly nimble body part of mine. Just an excuse, I know, but ...

There was a post somewhere about it but from what I gathered its not super easy and its not something I would want to mess up as your life may depend on this part failing (ie, its not changing your interior trim out and having it pop loose may kill you)

Unbolt old seat belts
Bolt in new seat belts (red)
Reinstall trim
I've got a set of the OE red belts sitting in a box at home. I'll try to get to the install this week and will post up if anything is tricky.
