Being charged 1800$ for a Stage 1 ECU Tune
This is my first post on the forum. Yesterday, I was lucky enough to purchase my first car; a 2011 C63 in dark gray with only 40k miles on it. I'm looking to purchase new brakes (since they haven't been replaced at all since the car was bought and they're starting to screech and give unusual feedback). I was also looking at doing an ECU Tune. I went to my local shop that was recommend to me by a lot of people and has good reviews online. They are charging 1800$ to order an ECU, flash it, and change the parameters. However, they did not tell me what brand the ECU is, what they did tell me was that the car will be gaining around 70-85hp and somewhere around 40-60 tq. I would like to know if that's a decent price for the performance gain or is it completely overpriced and should find somewhere else. I would also like recommendations for comparable or better brake system without draining the bank account. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Kickens

Also the search function of the forum is very good.
A switchable tune from a place like Eurocharged will run around $800 including the handheld. Some tuners are more, some are less. $1800 is high.
Good brake options from RacingBrake. If you do a search you'll turn up their threads for both BBK and OE replacement. FCP Euro is also liked for OE rotors.

93 oct
93 oct custom tweaked after a bunch of dyno pulls
104 oct race map
valet mode
and stock... believe it or not I needed a stock file because my car had a tune without a way of getting a stock map back on(previous owner)
Just saved you $1070 and got you a better tune.
Enjoy

Everyone on here has had good results with Eurocharged. Fit a set of ROW boxes. And if you really want to uncork some more ponies, then get a set of headers.
