What happened to the DIY headers thread?

I've got a way to make cheaper headers:
1. Make friends with welder
2. Buy pipe in various mandrel bends
3. Weld pipe into headers shape
I mean, it's not difficult to figure out, and you can create a similar "recipe" for pretty much anything a vendor sells here. The guy basically posted the recipe above, and all the headers manufacturers got all threatened by that? If there's soooo much R&D that goes into "quality" headers, what's there to be afraid of exactly? Are you ****ing kidding me? This place is a ****ing joke.

And the HMS thread had been around literally forever, so why now?

It is a catch 22! Forums like this were created to help each others out. But you reach a point where you have maintenance costs and probably need revenue (with the world we live in). So advertisement makes the big part of it since we members do not pay a dime to join. Vendors have definitely the right to expect some returns on investment. And unfortunately threads like the one that just got deleted are seen as a threat.
One solution if you want to filter out the crap is to do like Rennlist is doing. Give full access to paying members and limit lambda users.

And just because someone is mentioning their friend who makes things or services their car, does that mean that everyone needs to be a sponsor? I mean what's the point anymore? I recommend certain parts and service providers who will never be sponsors. Are all those threads going to get shut down too? You don't see FCPEuro or ECM getting bent out of shape every time oediscountparts.com is mentioned, which is like 12 times a day last time I checked. It's because they are confident in their business model and not afraid of a little competition, which frankly is directed towards a slightly different clientele. I'm learning the same about Golan at AutoTalent - he's an enthusiast and basically said bring it on. All these other ****tards can go get ****ed. If you can't stand behind your product or evolve with the times, **** you, die.

do you honestly give a crap about a home made header? any welder shop can do it but when u see a guy with a c63 getting a mock up done it raises interest as we are sick of paying 3k for headers and everyone was thinking that in the back of there minds.
that is why I think the site shut it down.

Looks to me as if just don't come up with any bright/smart ideas to collaborate on together that can save us money on anything a vendor offers. So don't come up with any custom forged wheels for cheap, custom exhaust parts for cheap, custom tunes for cheap etc that we are able to get through a member or non vendor then we are golden. 😂

This is exactly why nobody knows about Earl's drag car here (M156 content). He hasn't posted about it once. I'll go out on a limb and say that it's probably because he hates this place now. There are all sorts of other cool stuff going on in this M156 space, but only a fraction of it is posted here. When was the last time we saw jrcart post? He's still super active, just not here. This place is dying, and the management is not only complicit in this, but helping to accelerate it through their dumbazz policy and non-policing of the real issues that are driving your members (aka CONTENT CREATORS AND VENDOR CUSTOMERS) crazy.

Aren't the same vendors and or system being used in other MB Forums? It would seem to be they are all pretty generically the same in some shape or form. Correct me if I'm wrong? This is the first forum I actually took real part in so I wouldn't know.

Additionally, with those prices, it keeps smaller businesses out unless they have a large profit margin.
I question how one of our light vendors is able to keep up, as the profit margin per light is small. They know what theyre doing though so I can't speak for them, just an example.

So group buy on the starter package with 27 of us mininum. $10 a month each and we have an open password to access and start selling each other stuff/ideas that are going to save us money but get the same result. Haha. I kind of like it...
