Ask MB and ye shall receive - but not what you expected
Recently, I emailed mb canada asking about availability of an older MB-published book. They replied that the book was no longer available, but offered to send me a 2012 (the model year of my c63) C-Class brochure. That was a kind thought that I appreciated, and they even mailed the brochure postage paid. What I did not expect was what I ALSO, separately, received in today's mail:
Note, not just one, but TWO.
Note too that these trinkets are not cheap. They are not in the current MB accessory brochure I have, but there is something close to these, except not nearly as elaborate:
Note the price on the lower left.
I really appreciate the thought of the gift, and getting 2 versus 1, well, I now feel really special.
However, note the mounting and also the shift pattern . . .
these things are really nicely made, and i feel like I should be looking for a couple of Mercedes owners who have Mercedes models with 4-speed manual transmissions, whose shift knobs may need replacement or enhancement . . .
Does MB often DO this kind of stuff?

MB Canada apparently has great new-customer PR!
Stateside, all they sent me was a reminder to come in soon for service . . .

You couldn't just put this in your other thread, with zero replies, further down the front page?

But I'll keep what you said in mind next time I want to post on, say, transmission issues and air conditioning.

Everybody I know with an AMG from my dealership has received these.
They're $33, but very rare, you have to google "Mercedes wine stoppers" to find them.
Or look in the catalogue.

I am on my second AMG and the buggers sent me a white one each time.
Personally better they send me a case of oil or all the filters.

Based on my experiences going back to 1987 and 11 cars later I find myself LMAO at your comments. It just may be they are better than MBUSA but they suck when compared to Lexus (Toyota Canada).
We have two divisions of the same dealership group here on Vancouver Island. They are as different as chalk and cheese.

Well, i don't even drink wine, but I have two friends who do. One even makes his own, so I gave him one of them, and he went nuts over it because he is also a hotrodder. The 2nd one will go to another friend who enjoys good wines.
It's nice that they do NOT have the MB logo, or any other advertising, on them. They actually are a reasonably classy gift.

I just received the new-old-stock 2012 C Class brochure, as MB Canada promised. The brochure is an incredible 77 pages long!
I have barely gotten into it, but one of the interesting tidbits is in the specifications section is that a C63 can theoretically, under perfect conditions I'm sure, attain mileage of 8.4 liters/ 100 km which equates to about 28.2 miles per U.S. gallon. Of course guys on THIS forum do, uh, a little worse than that.
