ebay is garbage. I don't see why people still promote it. I've tired to buy 3-5 things in my life and never once have I received what I bought from ebay.
Example, last ebay purchase was a set of gloss black emblems for my e63. I get in the mail 4 mitsubishi valve stem caps and a mitsubishi key chain.

I will only ever buy cheap things of eBay. While it used to be a decent place to buy stuff, it has turned into a joke.
The last two purchases I've done, they've shipped the wrong part, so they ended up having to send out another... Basically cost them more in double-shipping than the items cost.

I used to use eBay a lot, until I stupidly shipped an iPhone to Albania or some other ****hole using registered USPS, which unbeknownst to me stops tracking as soon as it gets to Eastern Europe. Guy reported it "lost" and eBay immediately sided with the buyer without any question or investigation despite my pictures/documentation and flawless history with them, and refunded his money.
Ordered "full carbon fiber" rear bumper flicks. Got a couple of hunks of FRP with some carbon laid sloppily on top. Screamed at the guy multiple times until he said just keep them and refunded me. 95% of the stuff on eBay is either fake or from China or both, and they have enough paying suckers for this stuff that costs pennies to make, to tell the complainers to keep the junk just so they don't get killed on the reviews.
Their business model is so ****ed up it's not funny. It's a total waste of time and I avoid it like the plague. Amazon is sadly starting to turn into the same thing - just overrun with fakes.

I actually just had some good luck from there buying gun parts when I built my AR-15. And, I found a set of flat black rear emblems for my C63. I agree that a lot is junk, but if you take the time to read though the whole ad you can save yourself some trouble.

Hmm.. Interesting.. eBay has treated me well so far. Luck of the draw I guess lol. I tend not to buy fake/no-name parts or buy from sellers with a rating less than 99%, so that could be why it's been solid so far. I've bought Coilovers... Tires... Exhausts... Control arms... Seats.. you name it lol. Only time I've ever had problems. is with small things like decals or something that costs< $5.. For those, I prefer to use Amazon and filter out things that aren't under Prime.
Sorry that happened bud... Is the sticker at least nice? Is it holographic? lolol

Wow - a few months ago when I asked, everyone said ebay was mostly legit [for stuff bought on these forums]. This was my first time using ebay (and last).
I originally put the picture up (not actually a sticker but a toy thing) but I realized the tracking number was visible so i took it off and edited post quickly as I had to head off. Will post what I got instead, along with listing.
I had been eyeing this spoiler all around for some various time and this deal came up, almost too good to be true. Guess it was.
Edit: Seller is also 5 stars with about 1000 reviews so it was another reason to believe it was legit.

File a claim through eBay, they should make it right. They side with buyers 90% of the time, I'll give them that much.
In the meantime contact the seller and give them a chance first. Then burn down their rating if they don't.

Here is the listing guys, as you can see seems totally legit [except I suppose the suspicious price; I've seen them going for about $110 at the lowest].

$85 is the listing price. I mean, did you really expect to get a spoiler for that? Or one that wouldn't be total junk?
You should get your money back, but seriously, stay away from 85 dollar spoilers.

I know. But being that it was 5 star seller, looking legit posting, and I've been "following the market" and seeing the prices going down, I thought it was pretty likely that it was legit. But yea, agreed.

contact seller then file a complaint. just don't let your complaint window run out. i bought a cheap folding bicycle and the seller duped me by saying they issued a refund but it won't be ready til a week later. they kept giving me that excuse upon each contact until the complaint window expired.

Contact the seller first and say you the items you got are not the same as the listing. Then go from there, if he does not resolve them follow up with negative review and PayPal. I still buy things from eBay, but it is usually from U.S. based sellers. Although, I have had good experiences with the ones from overseas.

I've personally never had any issues with eBay myself. Been using them for many years now, guess I'm just lucky. I would definitely contact the seller to see if this was an order mix up. On the bright side, eBay will definitely make things right and only takes 5-10 minutes of your time, their customer service is pretty quick, they deal with this type of stuff every single day. Then again, if you used PayPal, you're crystal clear, their buyer protection is incredible and you have 90+ days to file a claim and they issue you your money back.
Although a good guideline to follow applies here.. "sometimes, if it seems too good to be true... it usually is." Like this damn time-share vacation I just bought in Vegas....
