paganin, this thread is about the AMS/alpha Exedy upgraded friction discs actually working in the pre MCT 722.9 transmission.

Maybe you misunderstood the OP so I hope this clarifies it. They are however exclusively sold through AMS (I posted the link to the exact item a few posts up) but it looks like a few vendors may be able to provide a discount.

I will continue to provide feedback here.
I could also ask if a GB is possible if their is enough interest?
Could anyone provide info regarding GB rules?

It has to be from a paying vendor.

I see. So AMS would have to sponsor the forum? Who should I direct them to if they would like to proceed?

I can get the AMS kit for 1650 shipped in the US
Most of the time AMS does not offer additional discounts on multiple orders at one time

maybe his transmission is now shifting so hard he's gone to outer space.

Lol. Let's not get carried away.
Car has been parked for the passed few months as I have another daily.
I ran consistent 11.1'[email protected] before putting it away. Nothing but positive things to say but, I don't want to go overboard either as I haven't installed a blower yet or really put it to the test power wise. I feel like the combination of the carbon driveshaft and the more positive shifts at full throttle helped contribute to my consistent times. It has more snap out of the hole and I got my 60ft's down to 1.62, I don't think anybody with MBH headers n/a has gotten them that low considering my MPH is only at 125. Given the MPH I seem to be down on power compared to others who run low 11's regularly and a higher MPH, so I think the advantage is partly driveshaft, partly trans.
Definitely need a blower to see if it truly holds the power levels, i'm just waiting to see some more results. I was almost set on the magnuson for this platform but I'm really digging the new ESS setup with the gen 3 rotor group. My S550 mustang friends have done extremely well with the whipple blowers and this new cooling advantage would elevate it's performance as it has shown. Id like to see a deal on a complete stage 2 setup as almost all of the guys going with a blower already have or will get headers moving forward and require more boost anyway.
Including injectors and big boost choices as a package would be key right out of the box.
I will drive the car daily in the spring provided I don't give into the Audi RS3 urge that's killing me.
I'll continue to update as power is increased.
based on what I have seen, every local MCT equipped E63 with big boost and or upgraded twins Is running this setup and not experiencing any slippage issues, which for me, after seeing the results and speaking at length with the reputable trans shop was enough to pull the trigger and not look back. This season should provide more results provided weather cooperates.

That's some decent times you are running Ritalin. What wheels and tyres are you running at the rear.
11.1 NA is quick. Going to be insane once you get blown

Good feedback thanks ritalin, I’m going to pull the trigger this week. BTW what are you doing to run 125mph traps NA? Weight reduction? I’m guessing you also have OE tune....

So,
MBH headers catless w mids and x pipe
Row boxes w afe filters
Eurocharged V7 tune
DSS carbon driveshaft
AMS exedy clutchpacks in trans w weistec trans pan
Front and rear seats removed
Sparco Evo driver seat
C350 rear brake conversion
Clk wheels w hoosier drag radial
225/50/16
Braille 21 lbs battery.

Before seat removal, V7, Trans upgrade and carbon shaft as well as c350 rear brake conversion w clk wheels i was running 11.5's at 121-122. So 4 tenths and 1.62 60ft compared to my 1.78's before.... lots of variables but all simple mods and i'm really not sure how much V7 added over V6, i noticed a seat of the pants difference in the midrange but nothing much up top.

If no one near you, John Shepherd at ShepTrans in OH is one of the most trusted names in trans builds for the Nissan GTR, and owns an AMG (or two) himself.
I was gonna go to him for some LSD work, but i went a different direction.
If anything, shipping to OH would be a lot more reasonable, with less downtime than a West Coast specialist.

Yeah, thanks guys. I know Shep very well - we were OG DSM guys back in the early 90’s. He’d easily be my first choice, but I’m ideally looking for a good transmission guy near NYC that I don’t have to ship the trans to, but could just have it dropped off from my local shop. Clutch packs are already on the way thanks to Shardul @ UPD.

(by the way Ted, I’m talking to Florian at limitedslip.de, we should trade notes)

Thanks Brad, will try blackbenzzzzzzzzzz
