Putting c63 amg in drive while still reversing, takes time to start moving forward
Hello everyone! Im looking at a 2012 c63 amg with the p31 package and it has 45,000 miles. He showed me that when the car is in reverse and you put it in drive while it's still rolling back it takes a little bit of time to engage and start moving forward. He said that's normal on these cars, has anyone tried this? Let me know if yours does the same thing! Thanks.

Very normal my car does the same thing. It doesn't happen all the time but nothing to worry about.

Normal in my 13, but you should come to a complete stop before shifting and that also seems to make it shift faster into D if you are dead stopped when you shift.

I suspect that changing from reverse to drive or vice-versa while in motion cannot be good for the clutch packs. You have all the momentum of the 4000 lb car fighting what the tarnny is trying to do. I suspect this will wear those clutch packs a lot faster. Why the hurry?

If you only looking at the car I would be looking elsewhere. If that is how yer man drives it you have to wonder (1) what 45000 miles of doing that to the transmission has done, and (2) what other little "tricks" he has been using on the car. Not a car I would want to be buying!!
