Anyone here have a VW Golf R? Gonna order a 2018 as a secondary "do it all" vehicle.

The Audi RS3 is not coming over as a 5-door, so that leaves the Golf R. Seems like a great both practical and fun package. Now I only have to choose between Lapiz Blue Metallic and Limestone Gray Metalic. I'm leaning towards blue which seems to be happening "performance color" these days.

Love the R. Almost bought one, but cant get them with a sunroof for some reason. At least not here in Canada. After my last 20 or so cars having one, it seemed a little 'claustro' and I just couldnt get past it lol.

Awesome car tho. Great bang for the buck. 2 friends with them rave.

Great to hear, thx. About the "claustro-ness," I'm truly surprised at the interior width. I'm one of those people that likes to rest an arm on an open window in the summer and the sill actually feels too far away to do it comfortably. Am keeping my fingers crossed that the '18 gets the Euro large 9.5" display rather than 6 incher on the domestic '17. Nice to see it's made in Germany too as opposed to Puebla.

Probably no sunroof to make the chassis more rigid, a la the old M3's with the track package.

Door to door width IS great, and headroom is just fine too. Just more about the feeling of that after being used to the skylight factor of the sunroof. My bro in law has the GTI and he has a nice big sky hatch.

Isnt that about lower center of gravity also? I think a sunroof adds like 60 to 80 pounds, as crazy as that sounds.

Cool ride!

You can get the rs3's here and a buddy just bought one, they look petty neat.

Someone should make a thread for everyone's dailys, if they don't daily their c63's, would be interesting to see the spread of cars.

^^^ This could be another reason also. I love the GTI. I actually had one in high school and wouldn't mind having the R now.

My missus owned one. Suspension is beyond harsh on UK roads. Way worse ride than a C63 on 19's.

Fast little car, but not refined or comfortable for long distances in the way the C63 is.
