MCT vs 7G

But then I've seen the odd video on youtube and MCT cars are doing burnouts, which confuses me a little because my car doesn't spin the wheels at all unless it's raining.
I'm not really sure what I'm asking for here, but perhaps just thoughts and personal experiences with the two types of transmission. Like...if the issue was traction related, I could work on stickier rubber and suspension set up etc...but the half second delay and then initial rollout before the car decides to haul is really irritating. Any solutions or tricks that I'm missing here? I know the M157 E63 guys have this issue also and from what I can see, there isn't much that can be done about it.
I am 100% positive the MCT does not have any problem with doing burnouts.

What am I doing wrong? With traction off (not in sport) shouldn't i be struggling for traction when i try to take off at anymore more than very light throttle? My car just rolls off for a couple yards, then takes off. Sure it might spin at that point in transit, as it goes through 1st gear, but that's not what I'm trying to achieve here. Hmmm...

Hard launching? More difficult. It's down to timing on the brake boost. If you have your foot on the brake and floor the gas, you have under 2sec until the trans goes into a safety mode and you bog your launch. The trick is to get the tires real hot, stage, then as soon as the first light comes down floor the gas and release the brake a moment later. MCT cars can launch hard, you just have to practice.

On a few rare moments of my ownership of the car, i've hit the throttle and barely half and the response was like a normal auto and the thing tore off the line in heroic sideways fashion....i just can't replicate it though, hence why I thought it was the nature of the tranny.
The reason I ask is because i'd like to test out an airbox that i'm making, but i'd like to 1) attempt consistent launches and 2) get a credible time.

I got a .176 reaction time and that was just slamming the gas without break boosting the car.
Can also spin the tires untill they catch fire.
My old e55 would not let me do a burnout though so I know what u mean.

I was actually amazed how well the traction control was doing its job as I was just smashing the throttle on all runs.

Here's a video of me in my 507 vs a Black Series. Both of us used launch control. He got a slightly better launch, which is to be expected, as it has wider tyres at the back. But I passed him again.

Did you run that 11.91 in your sig at ABQ? Impressive.

I saw the video of your car on Instagram, against the F80 M3
and was in love with the way it sounded
The MCT in the 2016 w205 was very responsive but it in my personal opinion the transmission and the car was a littlebit toooo clinical.. Shifts have been solid and superfast but it lacks of emotion. I know thats tuff but its just my personal opinion.
The 7g is the one where you have the feeling it's indestroyable. I think the transmission is great and supersmooth compared to the other MCT's. A littlebit slow and you have to get used to it but once yu realized that you have to pull the trigger early enough than you are as quick as the MCT 1st Generation on upshifts. Downshifts is a different league compared to the MCT unfortunately because the 7G is superslow in Manualmode especially when you are under heavy breaking. But the tranny fits the characteristics of the car very good. It's heavy and a little bit slow but that's the way AMG's always have been in the past. I like it :P

@jeffDL what do you mean by hesitation, from initial throttle or during shifts? I am curious but I know there are a few adjustments you can make to the MCT if you have a star diagnostic, for example make the shifts silky smooth again with a relearning of the clutch engagement.
Now I currently have an MCT car and the tranny is much smoother, especially shifting at low speeds under load. Upshifts are slightly faster at redline. Downshifts aren't as good as the old tranny. I find the 3rd-2nd downshift imperfect. Doesn't rev match like the old one.
Maybe I need to do TCU reset??
