Got a header file and the car screams up top but feels dull below 3500. I don't know if it's from the xpipe but will try running the straight pipes that cane with the headers.

I might install the hi flow cats I bought also. Top end is definitely faster....like way faster but I drive around in 3rd from 2800-4500 rpms and that area is where the car is suffering.

Oetuning said these headers are too big for na cars and really made for supercharged cars.

Oh really? Aren't these headers the same as MBH ones - also 3 inch pipes?

Yes but with 2" primaries Tri-Y VS ARH with 1.875" primaries 4 into 1.

skratch77 try a lower gear. I don't find mine lacking in the lower end that way. I rarely drive in M mode, I use my right foot and let the tranny pick the gear. Even in C mode the car is a rocket.

Nice. Good to hear. You running with straight pipes with cats, or your original X pipe without cats?

Huge waste of my time and booked shop time to get them installed so I skipped doing the ceramic
Sad to hear.

For others looking for THE ceramic coating without any BS:
Swain Tech White Lightning.
Most others are fluff and 'high temp' paint.

What is the average price you guys think is fair to get headers installed.

I also had the shop get new gaskets and all the studs

EC Canada told me 10hours / $1100 for the install, 148 for gaskets and bolts.

It should take an experienced shop about half that ^. That's nuts. I did it with a couple of friends in 8hrs and we had never done one before. Could probably cut that time almost in half knowing what to expect now.

I'd say that $500 is a good deal, $750 is probably "fair". Anything over that means you should keep shopping around.

No sir, I am on my 4th LTH install on these cars and no matter how you cut the cake you are in for at minimum 7hrs. This last time around i had an amg tech give me a hand or me give him a hand LOL and still 8hr job and trust me we had all the tools and know all the tricks. It's always one thing or the other. I do agree on the $750 price though.

These headers are not as hard as a E60 M5 but they are always a pain in the dik.

No ride bro, ask them to hook you up a little. Or find some DIY's get all the right tools and knock it out with a homie. Just prepare for cut up hands and knuckles, cuss words and temporary anger. Keep focus on the smile you'll have when you're done. Split the job up in two days. If you need any pointers or things to expect send me a pm.

That's 1100 CAD dollars around. 770 USD. I know for a fact EC Canada takes 7-8 hours for a header install. They just can't get it done quicker.

Awesome. Glad you got it sorted out.

Find a tuner who uses HPtuners. Then they can manipulate the Variable Valve timing. We did it on my car, and got good gains at the bottom end and mid range.

Grats skratch! Enjoy your big day.

Anyone know good shops in Ontario/GTA that won't charge me 1k + for this install? Seems our American friends always get cheaper goods. Even when it comes to skilled labor, somehow Canadians found a way to make it more expensive.
