New owner from Johannesburg, South Africa
Not only my first amg, but my first Mercedes altogether. Been an M man for the better part of a decade. Had the honor of owning some of the best M motors ever made. Left bmw when I felt the brand had lost its originality, and jumped into an F-type R. That's another story, but all u need to know is that I'm keeping it forever, and I've never kept a car for longer than 2 years. It's that special.
Found myself looking for a new car to get infatuated with. Had been exposed to the 507 thru my bro-in-law who was a bigger M man than me and who fell in love with 6.2 from amg. Always used to tell to get one. The last of the greats he used to call it. Said I'd love it. I believed him but that I wasn't in a position to have 2 such indulgences...
..and luckily, recently, I have found myself in a position where I can finally have two lovers. One a superchargered 5 litre v8, and the other a 6.2 V8 from amg. I am a blessed man.
I have already fallen for the amg, and I've only had it for a week. Such an inspiring engine. So much range and character. Yes there are some issues, but every performace car has its eccentricities. The box isn't perfect, but it has its own personality. I remember the Smg II box in my V10 M6 was a pig in traffic, but it used to sing when u drove it on the limit.
I am a very lucky man to start my journey with Mercedes in a very special car, a polar white C63 amg coupe 507 edition.

I also have a polar white 507, and I love it.
Congrats on your new car, I'm sure you will love it more each day.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the C63. Both cars look great and it seems like you truly enjoy them!

It's a painful pleasure every morning, but one I must endure. The jag is resting for a bit while I get acquainted with the 6.2. Was using her as my daily for the last 18 months.
Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Welcome from another South African.
I just sold my C63 on Saturday, and reading your intro thread gave me a very weird feeling in my stomach, like I made a horrible mistake
You certainly bought an amazing car, and no doubt that you will love it!

Basically been having major issues with Mercedes-Benz SA, and had a damaged gearbox.
Didn't really have the cash to fix it, nor the cash to fix it if anything else broke (Car is out of plan).

I've got an autoparts export business with about 80% of my clients in South Africa. Mainly big american V8 parts but if you guys want anything out of the USA I can put you in touch with my guys in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. One of my guys in Cape Town has a CL63. It's how I got turned onto the MB Big V8s.

That's awesome. Yes it can be a small world. But I wish it didn't take 30+ hours to get to Cape Town from San Francisco! Hopefully shipping Ralph some GT4 parts out this week for another one of his customers. Tell him to buy you a Klippies and Coke and I'll credit him ;-)
