2013 C63 with Nexen tires
I'm looking at a 2013 C63. 15,000 mile car great condition. The car has Nexen tires with some wear. Being a newby here, my question is, why would this be? I don't believe they are OEM. Would OEM tires need replacement that soon? Could the car have been hammered or maybe damaged? I would appreciate any thoughts. also, wheels are perfect.

First off, a 2013 C63 would be a W204 car, not a W205. W205 is MY2015+.
Secondly, there are any number of reasons that it could have different tires - it's a four year old car at this point, and for a high hp rear-wheel drive car, you could easily go through a set of rears inside of 15k miles. Or maybe he had a blow out at 10k and decided to replace the entire set. I wouldn't really be alarmed by that as long as the rest of the car is in good shape.

the owner doesn't have to stick with oem tires... i've run nexen tires for a long time just because of the cost and they wear well considering the price... i used them as dailies and even ran it at the quarter mile track... you'll go through rears real quickly...

Rear tire life for most owners ranges from 8-12k miles, so the fact that those are not OEM tires doesn't tell you anything about whether it's been driven hard or not.
While I'm not familiar with Nexus tires, most of us have found much better grip, in both wet and dry, from Michelin's Pilot Super Sport. If it was mine, I'd be swapping tire brands when those wear out.

Nexen makes very cheap tires. So you have a luxury sports sedan running the cheapest tires you can get. I think that gives you pretty good insist into how much the previous owner cared about their car...
Edit: Here's a comparison between a Nexen tire and am equivalent Continental Tire:
Nexen - $177.99 CAD per tire in a 255/35/18 size

Continental - $276.99 per tire in a 255/35/18 size

They are not even cheap in reality
Nexen 255/35/18 is $160 usd
Pirelli P-zero Nero 255/35/18 is $154
Continental 5P 255/35/18 is $179
Why would anyone buy that tire when you can get some quality tires for basically the same price and those Nexen tires don't list our cars as fitment so they probably have the wrong load rating also.

OP if above is correct you have more bargain power if not correcr load rating. Either way those tires should not be on this car period it is not an Accord.

I actually got a chuckle reading this but it is completely understandable if your not used to the tire consumption rate of a c63. I have owned my car since Feb and in 14k miles have had 3 sets of tires. My last set of rear tires lasted 4500 miles and 90% of my driving is highway driving to and from work. So I would say that it is well with in reason to expect to see a different set of tires on that year car with 15k miles.
Just for reference the average lifespan of tires is somewhere between 6-10k miles. The stock continentals were really not that good. The saving grace for the tire wear is the mileage warranty given by Michelin which is 15k for cars that can not rotate tires like ours. My last set cost me $98 out the door to replace under warranty.

Honestly I hated my Continentals and blew the sidewall out of the oem set in 3 months. Those tires are hot garbage and for the money you're spending on them you can get a better set from toyo, falken, etc.
Right now I'm running achillies atr sport 2's and they are so much better than the oem conti's for way less money.

My biggest rant is grip and road noise. I hate when a tire starts that "hum hum hum" going down the road. I had a set of hankooks and they were very decent tires for the $.

So my wheels aren't a normal setup for c63 so I have extreme stretch and run the tires at 50psi and they are quieter than the conti's I had with how they are set now. Grip and everything is great and also they are amazing in the rain. I really have no complaints about them and I paid $300 for a full set. If you do a normal c63 setup with them they also has "rim" protectors.

These are cheap Chinese tires that are marketed at drifters - the guys who prefer a cheap tire with limited grip. Some people may be perfectly happy with that in a high performance car, but it strikes me as being kinda dangerous.
