who out there drives a W204 C63 by choice, and considers this the last interesting AMG product?
I'm sure you are out there, the few passionate ones who speicifically choose the W204 C63 for the car it is.... and not the bargain performance car it has become.
chime in... we'd like to here from you and why you chose W204 6.2 liter power.

I couldnt comfortably afford the new C63, but even if I could, I would still get the w204 c63. Does this still count? Turbos and that new look doesnt do it for me. This 6.2L NA motor plus the badass looks gets me very erect

I agree with the statement above. I am just not a fan of turbos, always preferred NA and its sound.

Pretty much. I'd say the majority of the complements/convo I get about this car are about the sound. Thank you crazy German AMG engineers for stuffing the biggest engine they could find under this tiny hood.Originally Posted by jjt617

Last AFFORDABLE AMG that interests me. I like the GTS but I can't justify a $130k car right now. And don't get me started on those fake in-house 43 AMGs. Those are the spawn of the devil. I love the sound and the power delivery of the w204 and the M156. I like the SLS BS that came out after the w204 but that's in the same boat as the GTS.

I love the M156 motor. Doesn't matter what chassis its in.
Definitely unique! I'm not sure it's the last interesting AMG product though:

I like the W204 C63. I think it has one of the best sounding exhausts out there.
There are other AMGs I like. I'd rock an E63, a W205 C63, and certainly a GT.

ExploreSo the M156 was my second choice but not planned at all. I was originally planning on getting a 2007 SL65 but when I finally pulled the trigger I was a week too late. Still at the dealership they had a 2007 E63 that had been sitting there for months and I had heard stories about this NA V8. I ended up leaving with that to only two years later get my current C63 P30 which I cannot stop modding. Honestly for a daily driver its a little stiff but I try to get it out to the mountains once a month to keep us both happy. I don't see myself getting rid of it but the only other AMG I see myself getting is an SL or CL 65 or one of the pre merger AMGs.

Count me in as one of the weird ones. I love this car. To me, the 2011 version is the best looking version sans the black series. The rounded hood bulges are just perfect. The double fins on the front bumper instead of one. The pop-up nav unit. The monochromatic center display instead of 16k color one. If the 2011 had a faster transmission, it'd be about perfect, for me.
The W205 C63 is a far better handling car (Drove it at ADA). If I only had one car for street and track, I'd have to consider it, but its looks don't suit my tastes. I'm not a fan of the baby S-class look. Maybe the next edition will blow me away, but until then I'm keeping my W204 with a 6.2L.
A P100D is certainly tempting, but is it $150k better than a C63? Nah.

liked the c63 that much that i bought my second one and drive it more than my lambo or clk63 BS

8 years and still loving it. Not much else I would entertain buying. The 18 E63 is beautiful, but lots of coin for a car...

Not sure why other people bash the other amg's. The cla45 is a "fake amg," they say. I don't know whats not to understand about it - each car has its own "class." You don't race a gti with an e63, you race it with an a45/cla45. And being that the engine in the cla45 is the most powerful stock 4 cylinder engine consistently produced in the world at this time, I would see no reason why it shouldn't be considered an AMG.

After an exhaustive search I chose the C63 because it was the best car I could find. It was definitely not the cheapest but it was the most powerful and exciting car that came in a 4 door package. It literally fit all of the things I was looking for in a sport sedan. Now I will not say that it is the last AMG that I would be interested in I currently have my eye on the S63 coupe and the S65. If a few years down the road I need something to carry the wife and kids I would look at the GLE63.

i think the one people take issue to is ths C43. The 45 engines are actually built in Affalterbach whereas the 43 engines are typical MB production line.Originally Posted by Adi-Benz

Not by a long shot.
I love the W204 C63, but you cant deny the look / feel / performance of the new cars. Nostalgia will always be with the W204, its classic muscle car recipe and will undoubtedly be a future classic amongst enthusiasts.
New E63 looks phenomenal
C63S - one of the best all round cars in the world IMHO.

I'm not sure about the last interesting AMG but I bought mine because of the M156. Turbos are nice and all but the monster V8 in the W204 is something special. I felt the same way about the 2007 Z4 M Coupe I had. The S54 motor and the looks were something else.
I follow a few Instagram pages that sometimes post up a split picture of W204 and W205 C63, either sedan or coupe. The description is usually "which would you choose?". It always impresses me how 90% of the comments are for W204.

I'm with you. I'm been half-assed trying to sell my '14 507 and every time I walk out and look at it I'm thankful nobody has bought it from me yet. Turbos and superchargers IMHO are simply a plan B way of getting more out of an engine at the expense of reliability. Ask my buddy with his 535i with 87K on the ticker that needs a $7000 "turbo assembly" because his waste gate actuator is sloppy. I prefer the simplicity of displacement and the beautiful music that results.Originally Posted by jjt617

The 10% that say they like that weak-*** rear end probably already own one and can't stand to admit it looks sissylike.Originally Posted by Cozy

Sounds like you really don't want to sell it! Hope everything is alright on your end.Originally Posted by HBC350

I don't want to sell it. But I also don't want to own it after the warranty expires unless I have something else in place. Originally Posted by NotABaller

I also do like (despite the supercharger) the F-Type R. It's a sickness.

My feelings sort of echo these. The W204 C63 is a classic, last of its kind, big NA motor small bodied sport coupe. The M156 is a masterpiece. These are some of the same reasons I owned a C6 Z06. 7.0 liters NA beast with otherworldly sounds. Also the last of its kind. Originally Posted by Kriston

However, that being said, I really like the new E63S. What a screamer! And truth be told, the W205 C63 coupe is attractive to me. You can't deny the performance, even with the turbos etc. it's still got that V8 sound and I happen to like the looks as well. The sedan, not so much.
I imagine that in a few years, being a true enthusiast, my eyes will wander and I'll be looking for my next fix. For the time being though, my new (to me) W204 C63 coupe really gets my blood going. It's a great combination of looks, power, sounds and interior detail that's going to be enjoyable for some time.

Not at all. I was at the AMG booth a few weeks ago at the Concourse D'Elegance and while there, realized that almost all of the new AMG's are extremely appealing to me.
AMG's these days are about tying brute force with absolute elegance. I like that recipe.
I mean, just look at this:

How can anyone even compare that to this:

Back on topic... I wouldn't say the W204 C63 is the last AMG that interests me. I love every single car in their line up right now. They're killing it.
