Michelin pilot sport a/s 3+ review, worth it?
Hello everyone! I was looking to purchase Michelin pilot sport a/s 3+ 275/35/18 for my stock rear tires. I currently have brand new pirelli p zero Nero on the rear 255/35/18 and was looking to put those on the front. Is it okay to run a 255/35 on the stock 18' wheels? Also, how is the traction with the Michelin pilot sport a/s 3+? Feedback greatly appreciated!

Yeah I'm just looking for a solid tire that I can drive when it starts getting cold as well since I live in Ohio. Not gonna drive it in the snow, but when it gets cold summer tires are horrible. Once I get new wheels I'm gonna put super sports on them

Yes you can run a 255 on the front.
I have the A/S3 plus. I have been running the A/S3 ever since I switch the original Conti tires off the car.
Even though I live in SoCal so real cold or winter tires are never really needed, I got them not for those purposes but rather the higher treadwear. I realized that they gave 90% of the grip that the dedicated summer tires did and they last a whole lot longer (for me it was a difference between 9k miles and 12k miles) and I still see a ton of grip in the dry and better grip in the wet.
I also dont really track my car so squeezing every inch of performance out isnt a concern of mine.

I have them on my Black Series due to the MB dealer replacing all the tires before I purchased, and because Michelin doesn't make a 285/30/19 Super Sport or PS4S.
The A/S 3+ hold traction very well. I've had the Super Sport also and I've been pleased with both. Can't really tell a difference when it comes to outright grip.
My question is, why are you going to mix match different brands especially when you just bought those Pirellis?

so i got the a/s 3s for all four corners - 265/35/18 for rear and 235/40/18 for front.
i was going to get the alignment changed so there wasn't as much AMG-spec rear toe, which is really what toasts our tires, but i didn't. 6000 miles later, the rear tires have MINIMAL wear. extremely impressed. if i drove this car more often, i'd definitely consider going with a less aggro alignment, though.

Looks pretty stupid and pretty cheap when you mix two brand tires.
Also if you had a w205 amg with like, 4matic, you'd prolly kill the trans.

Read the manual for a 4matic - significant difference in tire wear, other brands, etc can affect the transfer case (unless w205's are different)
And yea, aesthetics are one thing. But tread and grip will vary. Running winters rear and summers front for example won't just make better.

regarding the other info, OP has a w204 C 63 AMG so W205 or anything 4 matic is unrelated.
with a car that runs a staggered setup and is SO heavily rear biased because of power like the w204 C 63 AMG, i would not necessarily be as opposed to running SIMILAR type, but different brand/model front/rear, vs. some other cars. but yeah - you and i are on the same page and i can't "recommend" it.
i think a relevant point was made about wear and just keeping the Neros on the back because they will wear out in no time no matter how the OP drives.

I just put on the AS3+ in stock 18 sizes about 2,000 miles ago and so far they have been great in daily driving. Traction is fine for spirited daily driving. If you were going to do an autocross occasionally or something like that I'd say go with something else. I had the previous AS3 (nonplus) for about 10,000 miles that the previous owner put on the car and the tires had good traction for all seasons in pretty much all weather except snow. I used them all through the fall until there was snow.
The AS3+ is supposed to have a better compound for snow but I am planning to switch to snow tires when winter hits. I went with the AS3+ over Super Sports primarily for the longer treadwear.
I've run super sports in the past on other cars and they definitely will give you much superior dry traction over the AS3+ and you'll feel the difference even in normal driving but the treadwear is significantly lower on the SuperSports. Depends on what your primary needs are.
