What Oil is This?
Hi all,
I just had my 2013 C63 B0 service (has 21,644 miles as of today) performed and the oil used is MB Genuine Oil PN: A0009898301USB9 whereas I found that the oil usually has BMG6 as the last four digits according to some research I did. Does anyone know what the difference is? Also, is the viscosity 0w-40w or 5w-40w? By the way, it was serviced at Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach which is s certified AMG dealership. Thanks for any and all help as I can't seem to find any info on the USB9 oil.

Looks like it’s standard MB synthetic 5W-40. The last 4 digits don’t mean anything.

You're good at Fletcher Jones, they know what they’re doing. That’s where I bought my car.

Thanks for the replies. As always, I appreciate them and always learn something from them too. Today's lesson: The last four digits are different for various regions and that the oil is 5w-40w. I also agree that Fletcher Jones is top notch in the service department.

.. unless the last four characters are BMG6, in which case the oil is the old Petronas-made AMG 0W-40 oil (the one in the black bottle with a blue-green label) blended for them by Sunoco in Belgium. Other A0009898301 XXXX oils are 5W-40 and likely based on the current Shell Helix formulation. How's that if you want to make your head hurt?

You Sir are one of the resident authoritative gurus on the W204 C63 forum and pay more attention to details than anyone else around here. That was really meant more as a sanity check for me than correcting you or anyone else.
Found a pic of the back of the BMG6 bottle - it shows both the 0W-40 viscosity and the "Made in Belgium" tidbits.
