540bhp x.18 is 443whp
510bhp x.18 is 420whp
hos car is like 5whp off the tuners claim and like I said healthy black series put down anywhere from 410-420whp and is right inline with 18% drive train loss.
I don' even have a eurocharged tune and agree with the re bhp claims.

I don't understand what the issue is. We are talking about 1% and this dyno got him 337whp so he gained 28whp
his 409 baseline is also with second cat delete and row boxes so there is your extra 9whp from a normal bone stock car.

at 18 percent he should be at 440 stock. As you mentioned he has cat delted, his whp should be higher, but he is down to 435. That minus the 9 whp u mentioned shoubd be 426. No way is putting 540 bhp

Now you are telling me it depens on dyno? That’s another variable to play with. Unless the engine is dyno at crank, everything published by tune manufacturers are just claim.
believe wat you want. I think it would be nicer to have 20-30 percent power train loss, that way you can claim higer bhp.

When it comes to the dyno, you can make it read just about anything you want with plugging in different correction factors. I know of 2 dyno operators in my area that will put in higher numbers so that the customers will use them instead of using someone who will be more accurate. You can make even a dynojet read what you want it to.

I understand that, but wanted to also address your exact words as well. I also feel that EC is not being truthful with their HP claims. The claims have been 540whp since the V3 tune and yet every tune that came after this was suppose to be a little bit more power according to EC, and that "540"hp claim never changed. I suspect that the dyno did read 540whp after putting in bogus correction factors.

Discussion about bhp is really all speculation, but you are messing up the speculation with bad math.
Lets do it backwards. If he gained 35 bhp (at the crank) and if driveline loss is 19%, he's losing about 7 hp of that improvement between the crank and the wheels. 35 - 7 gives him a net increase of 28 whp, which is exactly what was measured.
Conclusion: since the whp went up 28, the bhp must have gone up about 35.
Is it 540 bhp? Nobody really knows and almost nobody really cares. The only number that's important is the 437 at the wheels.

How is bhp even calculated by the manufacturer? Do they just take whp and divide by .82 (assuming 18% power train loss) or is there some way to measure the engine hp before they put it in the car or something?

The engine is dynoed outside of the car. They don’t calculate anything, they measure crank output.

My favorite part is at 0:11 when they tell us this is "a powerful motor with 525 hp."
And because I suspect this is the next question to come up - AMG does NOT do a full dyno test on every engine.

Mine felt good after the first try. Jerry was kind enough to give me 1 custom v7 tune, haven't really gotten to drive that one much but according to the dyno it's even better.
