Snagged a limited slip!

What is the correct oil that you guys recommend on the factory lsd?

I saw 75-90 and 75-140

Just want to see what is good for regular spirited driving and no track abuse.

Thanks guys it took a while.i was emailing cars on eBay that were salage and I found a white one and asked for the Vin and it came back 471 option so I asked him to pull the diff.

2012 with 62k miles got it for 800 shipped and he gave me a 90 day warranty!

There is one on eBay now for 650 plus shipping but it's an 08

I got quoted like 5 hours labor just to install it in my old diff.this way it's plug and play

I've also done custom diffs gearing in my m3 and every time the diff was opened it never ran right.i would get whine and the seals would eventually leak.

Factory LSD is a clutch type LSD: 75W-140 oil, as Mort mentioned. Alternative to OEM castrol, Motul also has one 75w-140 LSD oil.

It will take 1.2-1.3L so get three 500ml containers depending on the size you can find for the best price. The dealer or online OEM will likely have 500 ml for $25- $30. Might be cheaper in the US or from other suppliers if you check around. Going from memory but I think I paid that plus tax from the dealer last time.

I ran that #2043504313 in OEDiscount parts and got no items matching. The current part # is listed as 2043501717. The regular diff w/o locking diff is #2043508614. It is possible that part # has been superseded or is not a direct cross over to the parts list.

Or just spin the diff and look inside where the axles go and see if the gears are spinning at the same direction.

Yea the Vin checked out but the guy has 3 c63s and I told him to make sure it came off the white wrecked one because that one had option 471.

Ok just spun it and both turn same direction
