Brakes frozen?
It's very cold in NY these days, and my car, left outside overnight, seems to have had its parking brake frozen. I used a heat gun on the rear passenger wheel and the car can roll a little before it gets stuck on something again. I then heated up the rear driver wheel. Then after some jitters, the parking brake light went off. However, when I have the steering wheel turned all the way to either side, it still feels like the parking brake is on. Also the same feel as if you shift the car to park mid-creep, or put on the park brake mid-creep. Anyone know what I can do in this situation other than put space heaters next to all the wheels?

Mine gets pretty slow to disengage when it's chilly out (like 20s-40s F). I'll pull the latch and it will take maybe 3-4 seconds to completely disengage.. Never had it fully stuck though.

I usually avoid using the parking brake in the winter on flat parking space and/or after a car wash. I've had it completely freeze in the engaged position on my C250 before after letting it freeze up shortly after a wash.
Nothing you can really do to prevent it to be honest. Ice gets in wherever it wants and freezes whatever it wants

That's weird, I use my e-brake in the winter. Have never had that happen before. Even a few winters ago when I had the car parked outside in -25°C (-13°F) overnight temps.

My bet is that who ever is doing his service is not paying attention to this. I have never had one freeze up even though I am cautious. They do need to be properly lubed.

My p brake pedal would get stuck all the time. Took it to the crooks here in sac. They wanted $500 for new assembly + labor. I told them to kick rocks. Took off foot panel, fuse panel and sprayed hardcore lubricant, no not ky, on all 3 springs in pedal assembly. Now when lever is pulled it shoots back hard and disengages. Just like new. I used lubriplate green cap. We use it at work on our pruners, saws and aerial lifts. Good stuff.
