C63 From Japan

Hi,

I am from the UK and i am in the process of importing a C63 AMG from Japan.
What i cannot find is what speedo convertor i will need for the vehicle to run into mph from kph

does anybody have an idea about this?

I know the sat nav will be in japanese so i could get the CD and reload this bit, but i cannot find any information about the speedo convertor.

Thanks

I would have thought you need a uk cluster and to change the coding on some control modules...

I guess its not straightforward as the normal japanese imports where they used to connect the speedo convertor from the gearbox.

In my 2012 North American C Class Operator's Manual it says that you can select the unit of measurement from kilometers to miles. You might be able to do this directly from the steering wheel controls through the menus displayed in the instrument cluster in a Japan based C63. This will apply to the digital speedometer in the Trip Menu, the odometer and the trip odometer, the trip computer, the current consumption and the range, the navigation instruction in the Navi Menu, DISTRONIC PLUS and ASSYST Plus service interval display.

Thanks Mort for the information, i Just checked a youtube video of it and it does do what you have said.
But the only problem i dont think it does is run the cluster screen in mph.

I think its rare fix this as hardly anybody imports a C63 usually they buy here from the UK.

need to continue searching for a resolution

Why did you import one from Japan instead of locally or from mainland Europe? Just wondering.

What year. My manual page 211 says I can select units either as KPH or MPH through the Settings Menu

Japanese measurement is metric and gauge cluster uses km and Celsius. However some information are displayed in Japanese unless older car or directly imported from other countries by independent importer.
Unless you can read Japanese, I don’t recommend buying from there.

So does mine being a Canadian car 2013. I can change it to miles and Farenheit in Settings.
Simple answer is ask the seller to see if he can change it using settings.
Check this out
