What Would You Do?
Making this thread just for opinions to see if I should get this fixed asap. Ive been reading a ton about the headbolt failure and the other prone problems of the C63. I just purchased my car with 58k miles on it and after researching my VIN is one of thise affected. Now before I start modding my car I want to make sure I take care of the motor first, service wise before I start pushing this babys limits a bit 😁.
So, in your opinion do you think I should start by getting the heabolts taken care of? AND if you think I should take care of something else too what would it be?
Thanks guys,
Chris

Do you live in an area that gets sub-zero night temperatures? If not I wouldn't worry to much about it, it is never a bad idea to get it taken care of though.

If it was me, would rather be safe than sorry especially if you intend to raise power levels and it is a lot cheaper to do one bolt at a time preventative vs having to pull the heads and do head gaskets also if it fails.
I am not sure what being cold at night does to headbolts, but I would do them regardless of the temperature where you live during the night.
And as G Money says, while your in there SLS buckets to address the tapping issues.

Does it rain where you live? Because if it does then you should definitely do them.

I'd sell it and put that money towards a facelift
Preventative maintenance will always be the smarter thing to do. Just ask yourself honestly how you'd feel knowing you could've avoided a headbolt failure and having to go through that. Now, it's not a guarantee that all headbolts fail but knowing something like that can happen at least makes me not really drive a car to it's limits and takes the fun out of driving it at all.

Do headbotls first so you don't have to worry about it ever again. Get the regular revised M156 headbolts, and the revised M156 tappets. In my opinion, there's no need for the SLS buckets, etc. Check out my headbolt adventure thread if you'd like more info. You in NorCal? Also, planning to DIY to have a shop perform the labor?
