The difference is not something that will show up on a dyno pull or even a 1/4 run necessarily. It’s more to prevent heat soak of the intake manifold by isolating the metal-to-metal contact with the heads. I expect it to make a decent difference for those of us who track on road courses for 30min sessions.

Are these up charged sikky? Picture 6

Or sikky just plastic? How come "phenolic" is not said once on their site?

Found this on a Lexus forum, these are thermalnator
I've also read about another member with f/I where his blew out and leaked. If i'm not mistaken, this doesn't happen when it's phenolic

I've used a phenolic spacer on my last car which was an SR20 powered Nissan (circa 400 rwhp). The material on the one I used were like the following link, which is different to the material used in the Sikky one's it would appear.

Even though I used one during the SR20 engine rebuild process, I question the advantage on a circuit car, mainly because the airspeed through the intake at the sorts of rpms seen on the track, the incoming air is unlikely to have time to pull heat out of the manifold. IMO money is better spent on ensuring a cooler intake charge at the intake snorkels. Also at least in the case of my S15, the heat under the bonnet was like a furnace so the intake manifold was subject to substantial heat soak from under bonnet heat irrespective of the phenolic spacer.
