C63 Oil leak. Advice/Help Needed. TIA

Hello everyone,

Need some advice/help pls.

2008 C63 with approximately 130,000 kms

- had an independent shop that specializes in MB replace my Headbolts/buckets last September 2017 right before I stored the car for winter. After I picked up the car I drove it for approximately 500 kms and stored the car. I start and run the car couple times a week to while being stored.
- early February weather was nice and warm so I decided give the car a good detail and perhaps an oil change and noticed the theres quite a bit of oil leak on the bottom pan.
- Took it back to the mechanic and they said it looks like its the Valve cover and was advised that they replaced the gaskets and got the car back and brought the car back again for storage.
- Today, I was motivated to do my own oil change and found this again on the bottom Pan. Messaged the Shop again and just waiting for their reply.

it seems that the oil is coming from the front passenger side coming from the top. Im not sure if it is engine oil or steering fluid either.

Thanks again Fam,

Jordan

Unless it's smoking quite a bit from the engine bay it's probably not the VC.

It's more likely engine oil coming out of the upper oil pan gasket. It's some what common.

there was quite a bit of smoke coming out initially, also the leaks seems like its even above the power steering pump. Praying its now upper oil pan.

If there was smoke then probably the VC gasket because it drips down over the EM which is a hell of a lot easier to fix than the upper pan gasket. You need to remove the engine to get at that one.

Don't pray for that, expensive pain in the *** fix - VC gasket is super easy in comparison.

I had a similar situation. Turned out to be the gaskets from the cams adjuster cover. Fix it myself; it take 2 to 3 hours working at a slow pace. Gaskets are like 12 bucks for both sides.

I would say that it's most probably the Valve Covers or the Cam Housing Adjuster Housing gasket that are leaking. I had a similar issue as yours, and after the valve covers gaskets replaced, we discovered that it was actually the cam adjusters housings that were leaking. Also check to see if its the oil cooler return lines, that run into the drivers side of the engine block, as these o-rings do go bad. Ask me how I know.
