Which one...2012 or 2013??

Good Morning Guys,

I've been a long time lurker but finally getting ready to pull the trigger on a used C63 AMG Sedan.

They are a little tougher to find out here in Southern California for the year and price but a independent dealer down the street for me has a few.

Here are the links to the 2 i'm looking at...

https://www.californiacarcompany.com...nz-C-63/186002

https://www.californiacarcompany.com...nz-C-63/191427

White one has a good Carfax with 2 owners and 61K miles. Black one also had a good Carfax but it has 3 owners with 49K miles.

Which one would you guys go with?? Anything I should look out for??

I've been going back and forth on this.

Thinking of getting this done by this weekend.

Greatly appreciate your time!

JT

Can you get PPIs done on them at an MB dealership? All things being equal I guess I'd get the one with lower mileage.

The white one has a pretty aggressive front splitter, is sitting in some nice Vorsteiners, and is a Performance Pack, so therrs some added value there for sure.

Yes, I was planning to ask to get a PPI done.

As for the white one, yes, that's what's making the decision tougher! Haha

Both good cars, i prefer black for color preference BUT one thing i would look at would be on the white one. If you take a look at the rear bumper diffuser and muffler they don't seem to be in place. Could be caused of an aftermarket installation reverted back to stock and it was not installed correctly or maybe a slight hit. I personally do not like the idea of purchasing a modded vehicle because you do not know who did the work and installed the suspension and wheels. Let us know who route you decide to go OP!

That's a tough choice, but between the two I'd lean towards the white one. Realistically you are talking about a 12k difference in miles, which isn't huge. To me, I like the added value of the P31 package, and it also has the memory seat package which is one feature I really miss on mine. It doesn't look like either had the HID lighting package but I couldn't quite make it out from the pictures.

My votes goes to the white one. It has the P31 option, Nappa leather seats, Vorsteiner wheels, and BS series carbon lip just by going from the pictures.

Definitely go white! Stands out more, and also it has some great mods which sort of saves you money, plus it makes it look even better. better.H that mileage is negligible.

I swear that car looks familiar like from the forums here.

That's the one I've been leaning towards.

If you have more insight on that car, let me know!

Thanks

I should say that the dash and Command LCD screen colors are prettier on the 2013 vs the 2012 (Silver vs Tan/Beige), LOL. I hope that's not your deciding factor!

It's just tough choice.

Black - Less miles ( but not too bad over the white ), blank canvas to modify to the way I want. Black is a pain in the butt to keep clean though!

White - P31, Vorsteiner wheels and carbon fiber. Not really a big fan of the white/black interior but I can probably get used to it.

I think I'm leaning towards the the white.

Take the white one hands down. P31, and interior alone make it a better buy than the black one. Also the white one has no front license plate holder which is a plus looks wise even if it is illegal here in California. Make sure to get an inspection done through Mercedes, and also see if they can confirm if the car was optioned with an LSD for you. I'd also definitely look into a 3rd party warranty if possible. The only big issue is that both cars lack the lighting package, but there's a few routes you can take to fix that problem for not that much money.

Counteroffer: https://www.platinumautohaus.com/201...kg-c-12533.htm

5 minutes of searching found this which I think is probably the best one on the market for the price range the other 2 are sitting at. Best of luck.

Im not a fan of white but if its has an LSD, that would be my choice. It has Performance pack, better options, a few decent mods. Crooked exhaust may seem to indicate that it has a Res delete or 2nd cat delete; or some sort of work done on exhaust.

I personally prefer the look of the black. Looks sleeker. Blacked out chrome trims with the silver calipers, looks classy yet sporty.

Carfax does show it failed emissions inspection, so that could indicate there were exhaust mods at one point in time on the white one. Black one's Carfax however should a report of damage to the front of the car.

Wow! I missed the front damage portion on the Black one. Good eye.

I also did notice the failed emissions inspection on the White one.

This is from the 2014 C63 507 Order Guide -

319pkg – Lighting Package
C63 Edition 507: $1,290
600 – Headlamp Washing System
608 – Adaptive Highbeam Assist
615 – Bi-Xenon Head Lamps w/ Active Curve Illumination

might vary slightly depending on year but basically Bi-Xenon Head Lamps are the key to the package.

Strongly agree with this. Not worth trying to retrofit it later and you'll love having it.

If you're still in the market for a C63, there's one at a dealer up here in Nor Cal: https://www.toptiermotorcars.com/201...s_17529795.veh It's been there for a little while (if my mind serves me correctly, it's been there for over a month), so I suspect they'll be flexible on the pricing. My only concern I see with this car is that it's had quite the amount of tire changes in the past 10k miles (over 5 times). Aside from that, it is spec'd out just like mine (P31 pkg, LSD, lighting pkg, etc, etc (the list goes on and on for mine haha)) and seems to be in nice condition for the mileage. It's also a one owner with routine maintenance.

EDIT: They've dropped the price by $1k on April 4th
