HPTuners would also work as a diagnostic tool for the body? or just for the engine? I believe he's asking about a OBD2 diagnostic tool.

2012 C63 with P30, LSD, and EES Supercharger, 1959 Plymouth with Viper V10 and Tremec 6sp
I have the icarsoft scanner and think it is great. It will read the transmission fluid temp so you can properly change your trans fluid. It also gives live readings from each O2 sensor. Many other functions I have not used.

from what i know is that we're very limited as most useful options are only available through STAR/DAS. 
my local MBZ shop was able to monitor sensors directly as well as verify transmission valve block pressure and shift times in milliseconds.
