Nope. You’re given 2 keys at purchase. If you break or lose them, the car becomes inoperable scrap. Sorry!

People thinking they are so smart don't realize OP is talking about the new style of key Mercedes introduced for 2018.

As for OP, I'm not sure, but I think probably not. The new keys wouldn't be able to fit into the ignition of a W204 to turn it in case of dead battery or whatever anyways so why would you want one?

cause the new ones look pretty cool. Im assuming its the new style that the e400s use. Our style keys haven't been changed in over a decade.

To each his own, I guess... I suppose I'm old fashioned in wanting my key to still work with a dead battery in the fob heh. But also, if previous experience is anything to go on, that would also make me lean to no. It's like how the keys for our cars cant be reprogrammed to work with a W203 or W211 or whatever from the previous generation of MB cars.

Jesus, it’s just a key, a device to get in and out, turn on, hides in the pocket. The obsession with little things that are so insignificant. Why the headache over something so nominal?

how long have you had the newer key for? Most courtesy cars I get such as the new E and S Classes come with the new key, and they are not only bulkier, but also feel cheaper. All of them are scraped up around the gross back area.

Personally (IMO) i like the older stuff because they were made better. Just like the first gen iPhone vs Now. Yes the newer phones are faster and better from a UI perspective, but the production costs of the first gen iPhone was definitely more.

I like the weight and feel of our keys, and was pleasantly surprised that my glc63 came with the same type of key.

It is not possible to program the new keys that now come with the E and S class to any of the older models due how the keys work and function. In the older models and ones that don't come with the new key the push button is removable to allow you to start the car as if it didn't have keyless go. In the new E and S Class the push button is not removable. Instead if your key battery was to die you need to place the key into a key holding area where RFID is used to tell the car that the key is in the vehicle and then the push button will work. I have attached a picture of the 2019 E class owner manual which show the new procedure on how you start the car in emergency situations. As you can see because of this change it makes it so that it is not possible to use the new keys in the old cars.

I'd be more interested in retrofitting a bmw 8 series key, and slap a benz sticker over it
