The night before Christmas :)

Hey guys and gals,

I have been in the market for months now looking for a C63 507 edition. I didn’t plan on giving up hope until I saw this car which in my opinion I think it’s a good deal. The reason for posting is mainly because I’m excited and secondly I feel like I’ve done my research but just wanted a few second opinions to reassure this is a good deal. It’s a 2013 C63 with the P31 package in Steel Gray with 17,000 miles and a clean carfax. Options include: P31 package, LSD, Lighting package, Parktronic, Blind spot/Lane assist, H73 Carbon Fiber trim pieces. The price for the car is $37,500, ironically enough a trade in at a BMW dealership. Any input would be appreciated, also was there any differences between a 2013 and 2014 C63? I haven’t started digging much into the maintance intervals but the 20,000 mile one will coming up, is that a big one in terms of items to be done? Hoping on the airplane tomorrow morning to buy it! Cheers!

Thanks,
Riley

Has good options and mileage. Seems like a good car from what your saying. The services come down to service a or b. And per mileage or years for things like brake fluid, trans, diff fluid ect ect. I don’t think the maintenance is that bad personally. If your used to Toyota maintenance then yeah it will be a lot more. Try to get them to 36k. They will think they have you in the ringer cause you flew there. Just make it seem like you don’t care if you get the car. Your making a trip out of it. Walking out the door works well too to back your claims. Good luck with the purchase

Nice price for the mileage and great spec, would've picked it up myself if it was ready to purchase.

Well Riley you are officially on my **** list. I have been looking for a P31 in this exact setup for about 4-5 months. Color, options, mileage, etc. Contacted the dealer when it was listed on Sunday night and they didn't get back to me till around 2 to have a serious discussion. I couldn't get them a formal offer until around 8 which apparently was to late.

So I hope you enjoy it, but I will enjoy the 507 you will be passing on.

Yes I am bitter and am headed to cry in a corner.

Ahhhh man way to rain on my parade! In all seriousness I’m sorry about that, I know how it feels it’s happened to me twice already. Were you the gentleman from Virginia that called yesterday to put the deposit down? I’m on my last flight over to CT right now so if for some reason something falls trough I’ll let you know. Or we just do a one for one swap P31 for 507 when you get it

That's a helluva nice car. Congrats and enjoy it!

maintenance:
-Oil changes every 10k (I do every 5k), Service A.
-Service B every 20k (basically an oil change with filters and wipers changed).
-Trans service every 40k, make sure they drain the torque converter/clutch (do you have to do that part on the MCT? I have a pre-MCT car so I'm not sure).
-Diff fluid every 40k if it has LSD.
-Plugs every 60k.
-Coolant every 60k IIRC.
-Brake fluid, I think it's 60k but I do it every year, more often if I track the car.
-Tires...very often.

Nice pickup! I’ve always been in the camp “if it’s yours, it’s yours”, but sometimes you just have to act quickly when you spot a gem.

For anyone interested in a 507 sedan:

@OP, that looks like a good deal. Has low mileage and a great color . I notice in the wheel pic, the caliper paint/clear coat is chipping. Try and get them to fix that, 50/50 shot. If it's from a rock chip, they won't but if it is just naturally peeling, it is covered in warranty (if there is one).

Agreed, I'm just being pissy My wife asked me this morning while heading out the door if I was gonna sulk all day because if I was, she was going to dinner with a girlfriend to get away.

In all seriousness to the OP, I hope the car works out awesome and is enjoyed in great health!

Thanks for the link to that 507. I am sure it is outside of what I am looking to spend but we'll see.

Thanks for all the replies and help guys! I pulled the trigger and couldn’t be more happy. What a beautiful color too, unbelievable looking in person. INS1GNIA, you have an eagle eye. The clear coat is chipping away in that caliber as well as two others, which is sort of suspicious? Could that be from salt possibly? Obviously I want to get that back to as perfect as I can is it a hard fix or does anybody have experience with their clear coat coming off the calibers?

Nice, are you gonna drive it back or get it trailered?

Congrats! , it seems to chip away naturally or it gets started by a small piece of rock/gravel hitting the caliper, then it just gets worse. I followed this to touch up mine and it helped bring them back to life https://rennlist.com/forums/993-forum/699383-diy-brake-caliper-clear-coat.html.

Well the plan was to pay for and do the enclosed shipping thing, but the more I think about how $1200ish is the going rate from CT to TN it’s tempting to drive it. Although it’s 900 miles and bout 15 hours to Nashville..... if you have any suggestions or shipping recommendations I’d gladly take them. It was sure hard to sign the papers and jump on an airplane empty handed haha

Thanks! Perfect, that looks to be a great solution. It wasn't just that one caliper either, the clear coat is peeling on three of them which I thought was super odd. It is a little old being a 2013? But I saw on a Porsche forum that one guy suspected it from being from brake fluid flush and the fluid coming in contact with the caliper? Convinced me lol

Harsh chemicals and heavy pressure washing (pressure washing the caliper too close) also increases the possibility of the caliper clear coat peeling. Got to be careful with what types of wheel cleaners you use... also got to be careful with touch less car washes. It's a known issue for the P31 pkg red caliper clear coat to peel, unfortunately.

I would do the drive if you can. I think you will enjoy it a lot and give you time to get to know the car. If you can steer clear of the heavier traffic you will have a smile on your face the whole way. I did 2650 miles direct this summer. Took my time and did about 450 miles a day and really enjoyed the whole trip. Congrats on the car and welcome.

Congrats on the purchase. Hope you get it in your hands soon.
I would drive it back. That way you get to enjoy a road trip in your new toy.

Congratulations - and agreed, do the drive. I took mine on it's first longish trip this past Summer, Chicago to Cleveland, and it was great. You'll love the fact you're driving a luxury car on the highway, but then be able to pass at will with all that power. I think I averaged about 22 MPG, so you won't get too bloodied on your gas consumption either.

Enjoy in good health

Oh man, going on the plane empty handed would kill me, lol. I agree with everyone else, you should drive it.

If you do decide you want to ship it, I'd recommend this company. https://reliable-carriers.com/about-...uto-transport/ They have really good google reviews, they are still a shipping broker but, when you request a quote you will only get one from them and not a million random brokers trying to quote you a low rate that they won't honor after they have your money.

I haven't used them yet myself, but I plan to once I make my purchase if I'm unable to do the drive.
