Got my car tested today to see where it stands with California’s new exhaust law AB 1824. Tested at idle, 2500rpm & 5200 rpm. Car passed on idle, but failed the 2500 & 5200rpm test.

The car should not exceed 95dB in order to pass.

We scored a 108dB stock headers with secondary cat delete and resonator delete.

Any guess on what it would be when I install my lth’s?

You will fail. LTH with resonator and cat delete approaches NASCAR/DTM/V8 Supercar at full throttles.

I know it would fail, I’m curious if anybody with long tubes has done a decibel test and what numbers they got

Why does it matter? You'll fail either way.

Full IPE exhaust is 170+ dB. So with headers and stock cat back. I’d say 140-150’s db lol

I have mbh headers full 🐱🤫 with xpipe which should quiet it down and my shop did a dB reading and it was pegged passed their dB measurement device of 135. Honestly could be the loudest street car with a muffler. The akra mufflers tremendously quiet the car down if you need to pass. With secondary delete. You’ll need to put the res back on. You’ll never pass with longtubes.

Sounds like a monster. Yeah my intentions aren’t to pass really. My long tubes are still going on in a month or so. I only drive the C63 once a week on Sundays, the rest of the week I’m in my 0dB Tesla 😂

What a crock! So every Biker in Cali running a Harley is going to get pulled and fined $1,000? Good luck with that.

that’s not entirely true. The suggested base fine is $25 with a total fee of $193

Motorcycles are exempt from this rule. They carved our an exclusion for motorcycles and vehicles over 6000 pounds.

That's what it used to be, along with fix it ticket, but now it's $1000 pretty sure...

Instagram has been going crazy about it. You could get cutouts to close by the cops but still sucks.
