Homeowners with headers? How to get along with neighbours?
I bought a house this weekend! Very excited and happy about this new phase in life.
Only problem is, its not one of those 3-car-garage mansions with massive land. In fact, its a townhouse with a narrow lot and the single-car garages are very close to eachother.
My car has headers/h-pipe/resonator delete. Cold starts are monstrous and I love it, but Im afraid my prospective neighbours will not... So for homeowners that live in small-ish quarters, any advice?
Just keep starting it in the morning until I get complaints? I dont wake up super early, so I tihnk that helps mitigate some concerns... Any input is welcome. Thanks!

I usually leave the house around 5:15AM, so here are the steps i take to mitigate the noise
1. NO go with stock mufflers
2. No go with Meisterschaft Mufflers
3. Ok with Remus Catback
4. GREAT with Eisenmann Sport Catback (Center resonator)
5. Eurocharged V7 Cold Start Delete
6. Have a Mid City Engineering remote starter kit installed, keep the garage closed, and start the car. Wait about 1-2mins, then open the garage to air out
headers are: ARH with High Flow Cats.
So far no complaints.

I had ARH catless LTHs, X pipe and stock resonator and mufflers. I used to start my car with the garage shut and once the initial “BOOM!” was over I’d hit the open button. That kept the major noises to a minimum. I did that at 3 houses and asked my neighbors if my car was too loud. No one said they cared.

Congrats on your house! I'm in Mississauga and I've had one comment about my car waking up my neighbors early morning (7am) and that was by her son. I think you'll be fine unless you have real a**hole neighbors.

I attached packing foam to the inside of my garage door, about 2” thick. Start the car in the garage and leave it. It’s nice and muffled outside, but inside my ears bleed (IPE catted headers to stock cat-back).

My neighbors always sound like they are ****ing, fighting or moving furniture at least one or two morning a week, so **** 'em.

I had a 2009 GT500 with Kooks headers and catless H-pipe. The mufflers of the GT500 is a straight-through pipe. My neighbor told me I had made him jump about 2 feet out of his bed one quiet Saturday morning. My garage was DIRECTLY across a small street into his master bedroom.... Funny.
