The placement of the turbo back there would result in massive lag. My brothers twin turbo LS2 setup in his VZ Commodore has the turbos low down near the bell housing. Keeps the under bonnet temps under control too. My modified Nissan S15 ran a fairly decent setup. Built and sleeved motor, Full Race twin scroll / twin gate ex mani from the US and Hypertune intake, T/B fuel rail etc. Autronic management.

Celicasaur, unfortunately my S15 is a memory now as I sold it a few years ago as I bought a 38 ft boat a couple of years earlier and boat stuff was taking over the garage. Plus I wasn't driving it much after buying the boat. The S15 is an awesome platform to start with and I loved the new motor setup with the twin scroll / twin wastegate turbo setup which was kind of cutting edge back in 2009 for this motor. That pic was taken on the day I sold the car and the motor was around 7 years old at the time. If I had somewhere to store it I would have kept it. I was going to E85 it but never quite got there. PM me if you have any questions on the setup.

Sounds like it must have been a sheetmetal intake. I split my Hypertune intake twice with the point of failure being around the IACV block welding. Hypertune came to the party and replaced the intake which included a remote IACV setup - no problems thereafter.

it was running a stock manifold

Then sounds like a sheet metal manifold would have been the next step or get a mold cast if they were planning to produce a kit.from my reading the stock intake manifold is hard to improve upon as far as n/a goes but I wonder if it leaves anything on the table when forced induction is involved.

Yes it is an Aussie APS kit. Only change my brother made after installing the kit and twin 3 inch exhaust was a mafless tune where it made 500rwhp at 5 psi on a dyno dynamics. Has run flawlessly for the last 13 years.
I see on the APS website this kit on an LS1 with 13 psi and mild cam and head work ran mid 9's some years ago.

Bumping an old thread, but anybody know anything about the new whipple 3.4l blower? Might make a decent upgrade if not too far off from the 2.9.
