2012 Mercedes C250 Coupe 1.8l turbo - oil in spark plug wells
Argh! Nothing is simple on my wife's car... It has about 100,000km. I went to change the spark plugs and there was about an inch of oil pooled in each of the cylinders. After sucking/cleaning it out it looked like this.
Not sure where it's coming from. I did notice the gasket/seal on the oil filler cap seemed deformed/broken.
Could this be the reason for the oil in the spark plug wells? I sure hope it's not a leaking valve cover gasket because that's probably a pain to change. Or maybe the PO doing careless oil changes and spilling oil? Strange didn't smell any burning oil smell.

I'd suggest hope for the best clean it up real good drive for a couple of weeks and recheck if it wet again then it's time to replace your valve cover gasket sorry but let's hope for the best, if you do need a new gasket check out this place a just found online a few weeks back they have O.E. parts but much cheaper then the dealer. www.mbpartsprime.com you'll be happy they have everything the dealer has but lot's cheaper.

There is rubber gaskets around each spark plug wells and the valve cover. They get old and let in the oil into the wells.
New camshaft adjusters installed. The arrows between the camshaft adjusters (the ones that point to each other) are perfectly aligned. Hopefully that's a good sign. Also my kit came with the top plastic guide (it sits at the top between the adjuster wheels). The current one I'm able to wiggle back and forth. Is that normal or should I replace?
Also there are 2 plastic guides at the top of the cover near the camshaft adjusters and the tab are broken. These didn't come with my kit.
I'm hoping that those are more for alignment and they will seat in the camshaft cover and be held tight. Or I'll have to try to order those somewhere.
